<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Phreeze:</div><div class="quote_post">That was their own house and their own people running the clock, so I don't get how they have anything to complain about... If this were in L.A. I think they would complain to the league about it, but I just don't get why a team would complain about the clock in their own court..</div>

Actually I think the league imports their own shot clock operaters & time keepers for the playoffs. They said it during the Knicks/Nets series because they had a time problem at the end of one of their games. So it really doesnt matter that the Spurs were at home.

Ah thanks for the info, I didn't know that. Always thought the people at the scoreboard controlled the clocks..

Like the league is really gonna take back that game. [IMG] That's like the league taking back the Bulls '97 championship because MJ's gamewinner was a pushoff.

They have seperate people who controls the shot clock but the Ref gives the arm signal of when the basketball is in play, then the shot clock is surpose to be started immediately. I dont know if it did or didnt in this case but we shall see if the league over turns it. The shot look good to me. BuT I still got to wonder how you can catch the ball running away from the basket, turn around & release a shot in 0.4. Seems like alot to do in a short period of time.

The league doesnt overturn anything. But about the push-off, that may have been the greatest travesty in NBA history. How does a blatant offensive foul get overlooked even if the person committing the foul is considered the greatest to ever play the game? The NBA needs robot refs to get some calls right. And common sense rule making. How can you catch and shoot in 4 tenths of a second? Seriously

    Seriously...

Being a Laker involves practicing the art of the impossible. No trickery or backroom deals, just superb basketball.

About the incredulity of the shot. . .

The sooner you let it go, the sooner it lets go of you.

Keep in mind this wasn't the usual Kobe. He was totally exhausted after his 42 point performance. He looked like he was bout to collapse after one of those final timeouts before the miracle shot by D Fish.

idk about you, but the was the best Laker moment I've ever seen in the 21st century. I turned the t.v. off when the Spurs overcame the 16 point deficit and thought it was over so I went to bed. I knew something "Fishy" was up because I couldn't sleep. I turned the t.v. back on and I saw Fisher make the last shot. I was like oh sh-t!!

That's what I said too. If the Lakers can finish off the Spurs and win another championship they should make a statue of DFish taking that shot like how they did with Kevin Johnson dunking over Olajuwon.

Unbelieveable. Is that the appropriate word to use? Should I look into Dictionary.com and find other words that have the same exact meaning as that word? Wow. What a game. In all of Derek Fisher's troubles during this season, adjusting to his new role on the bench, and struggling with his shot when it seemed nothing would fall anymore, I as a Laker fan will never again diss Derek Fisher again. That shot alone will be the reason why the Lakers will close out this series tomorrow night in Los Angeles and return to the Western Conference Finals, and it'll be the reason why LA will contend once again for a world championship. I have a series of events in my mind, where can I start?? I think I'll break down the analysis.

I really thought the Lakers played very hard in the first three quarters of the ballgame. Once again we saw that intensity, we saw the fire, we saw the heart, and what I heard from KLAC 570 and watching the game when I got back from my college that the Spurs body language was just completely sunk and drained. Besides the regulars that receive the most credit like Kobe and Shaq in these last couple of games, Devean George gets the most today. From the way his outside stroke looked yesterday evening, his confidence is skyrocketing, and when he hit that three to put the Lakers up by 16, a smile came across his face. And to me, when I saw that, I just knew this man is back looking to put havoc in the minds of the San Antonio Spurs. What I didn't like however, was how the Spurs somehow got back in the game. Throughout this season, we've always known the Lakers allow their opponents to get on their spurts, and with the way the 3's from the perimeter were falling from Turkoglu and Parker, it was VERY HARD to watch the final two minutes of that ballgame with the SBC crowd going absolutely ballistic. My heart was pounding, and I was shaking knowing the true importance of this Game 5.

Now as I advance to the last portions of the game, Duncan's shot was truely a miracle shot. I don't know how well of a defense you could've played on him. As I watch the video on my Windows Media Player, Shaq was just completely on this guy. Stuck to him like glue, and even when Duncan shot that miraculous shot, Shaq still managed to put a hand in his face, and it was nothing but net. Then I thought the ultimate WORST. But I remember my dad, who is also a true Laker fan, kept telling me in past years, that the game is not until the time says 0.00. My mindset was for the Lakers to blow all of their timeouts, and just find a way to get the ball to Kobe. When I saw Kobe run to his left with two defenders on him, I knew Kobe had no chance to heave a miracle shot. But then Payton had the awareness to throw the ball in to Fisher, he stepped back.......the shot was clearly on target, it was just a matter of whether the hoop would play tricks on us. Would it go swish? Would it rattle in and out like the Horry shot last year?? The shot went swish, and my dad and I yelled so loud you would've heard it at least 2 miles away. This is why you don't give up in life in those kind of situations. You fight, scratch, and crawl to the bitter end. And that was exactly what Derek Fisher did.

I'm totally juiced for tomorrow night. The Lakers, especially Kobe and Fisher, who cried like children during last night's choking defeat to the Spurs at home, now have the golden opportunity to not only dethrone the San Antonio Spurs, but to put the nail in the coffin on that team. I am very sure the Lakers smell blood, and they want the ultimate revenge on that team that ended their hopes of winning four championships in a row. Heh, it will be an exciting time for the Lakers, us fans, and the entire organization. Can anybody smell the Western Conference Finals??

This was only a situation that the Lakers could have been in and suceeded. There is just something about the Lakers, much like the Yankees. Its almost as though they have the basketball gods on their side. It was an amazing shot. There wasn't even enough time for a prayer. The Lakers deserved to win this game. Tim Duncan traveled not once, but twice before he hit that amazing shot. And than Horry leaves Payton alone to inbound the ball with no pressure. That would have been an impossible pass if Horry was there jumping up and down. Crucial mistake by either Horry or the Spurs coaching staff.

    INCREDIBLE game!

    One amazing shot after another.

First Kobe, I thought it was over.

Second Duncan, I REALLY thought there was no way.

Turned the TV off thinkin it was over.

Gets a call from a friend yellin out Lakers won.

    Turns TV back on.

Sees Fisher runnin down the court holdin his hand up... too perfect, TOO perfect.

This has to be one of the greatest playoff game I've seen in awhile.
