<div class="quote_poster">Quoting heatfan83:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah ok Kobe was going to resign with Shaq and Phil still running the show? I've stated before in another thread the reasons why Shaq was traded (including him wanting an extension) and I said at the end of the day, the real reason he was traded was to guarantee the resigning of Kobe Bryant.</div>Didn't you call me slick? You love that edit button eh? I've seen like 10 versions of your post. Thats why I just quit arguing with you! BTw, how is my post belittling you? haha.
Back on Topic. Lakers Bandwagon fans show up when the Lakers a winning. Thats about it. The minute they notice that the lakers a failing (the finals a classic example this year) they disappear behind the scenes. There will be bandwagoners in every sport. It just the way things are.

I gotta admit that I was a Bulls bandwagoner in their first 3 championship years. I liked the Lakers more though and were pulling for them in 90. My dad was sick watching the Bulls beating the Lake show. I didn't watch the 92 finals but did see the 93 and was pulling for the Bulls. If I could go back I would've gone for the Suns but anyways I realized when MJ came back that dag. I don't really like them that much, my sister does. Personally they weren't that great to watch during their 4th to 6 championship run.

Then I started to think what heck was I thinking. Just because of the MJ commercial about everybody wanting to be Mike and my sister having a whole collection of MJ things that I guess I'd just like them too. But naw, I really just liked the Lakers and Houston. When Kobe started his 2nd season people started liking the Lakers. But when they won, most of them hated the Lakers from what I have experienced. I don't know anybody personally other then me and my father who actually likes the Lakers. Everybody I know despises them.

I was just going through the boards recently and wondered how many people would be Miami Heat fans if their "Favorites" were frozen once you registered so you'd never be able to change it...just a thought...

Bandwagon Laker fans base their thoughts on the upcoming season on what they hear in the media. Things like, "The Lakers are a 7th or 8th seed", "The Lakers might not make the playoffs", or "They won't win without Shaq". Real fans have faith in our team and won't let the departure of the so called Most Dominate Ever (who in my opinion is only dominate on the offensive end) stop them from supporting the lakers.

I've been saying this for quite some time now. Offensively, Shaq is great. Defensively, he's not.

And nice post...being pessimistic is one thing, but being completely negative about the Lakers is another. You can be a fan and be disappointed...but you can't give up.
