<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mr.Wade:</div><div class="quote_post">I think Bosh will only make the all star team if the Raptors are winning by All star break. Even if he averages 22 and 11 he won't make it if the Raps have a losing record. The team has to pick it up.</div> Why? He had a lot of consideration this year and was the next(or 2nd to next) big man in line for a spot. And that's when he was just starting to rise. Everyone ("experts") was saying that he'll be an all-star next year. His team was not good this season, and he nearly made it. He's improved and evolved a lot since then so there's a great chance of him becoming an all-star.
Look at the stars who have averaged very good numbers but bad records on teams... If you see all the allstars, you'll notice almost all of them are on teams with winning records. I'm just stating the point that you need to be on a good team to be an allstar, or you can be flat out dominant like KG.
^ Yes, but as a forward in the East, the competition is slim. The guys you're reffering to are guys in crowded positions, where they average the same numbers as someone else, but don't make it because they don't win. Right now, their's not too many PF's in the East that will average about 20-9. Their's JO, and yea....
But the East has some good forwards. Since they base the All-star on forwards and not SF and PF, there's the fan favourite Vince, Lebron, JO, PP, Webber and Okafor. Those are the powerhouses, and they're all on winning teams. (Cept Meka) Bosh has a good chance, but I'm just stating that it'll still be hard.

If you have decent record with all-star numbers and an all-star impact, you have a great shot a making it. I don't know your definition of "winning", but the Raps should be a pretty decent team next year. If they are even close to a "winning" team, given your Bosh projections, he will be an All-Star.
I actually forgot about Webber, he could put up some pretty good numbers himself, likely a double double with something like 18-21 points and 10+ rebounds, also some assists, 3-4 or so, so yea Bosh has some comp. Haven't they been listing Lebron as a guard?
Yea, Lebron has been considered a guard for the past two ballots, so most likely he'll stay a guard next year? Hopefully too.... otherwise it reduces Bosh's chance to make the all-star roster..
[quote name='Mr.Wade']Actually only 3 players averaged 20 and 10 last year: Shaq, KG, and Duncan. Oh ya i forgot novitzki did average a 20 10 howevr for a large part of the season: 26.1 ppg 9.70 rebounds
19ppg, 8.5 rebs, 2apg, 1.5bpg. key stat is the assists per game, which i think reflects his inability to pass out of the double team.

If you compare his apg to other big men (good ones). Shaq and Tim Duncan only have 2.7 apg and they get more touches. I think Bosh is a fine passer and will only refine his skills. As he gets more touches he could get 2.5-3.0 apg.
Bosh is an underrated passer. Stats don't do any justice to his passing ability, let alone reflecting his 'inability to pass out of the double team'.
i'll be surprised is Bosh makes all star team, over JO, Antoine, Webber, Jamison, Sheed...we would haaave to be .500 or over, because fans and coaches dont really pay alot of attention to Toronto, especially since VC is gone.

He isn't considered the difference maker for his team, Billups and Big Ben are considered Detroit's best. Bosh will also have better statistics, I see Bosh beating Sheed in voting. I would say Bosh's competition for a PF slot is JO and Jamison.
Well, there will be two forwards picked. Keep in mind that the voting doesn't list players as 'PF' or 'SF'. It just lists them as 'Forwards' and it asks you to pick two players to start at the All-Star game. Bosh will make it this year as one of the forwards, book it.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Banks:</div><div class="quote_post">I'm pretty sure coaches watch NBA highlights and know what's going on around the league...</div> I agree, I don't feel the coaches and players will overlook Toronto. They have a young core in Bosh, Graham, Charlie V, and Araujo. In fact, I wouldn't be shocked if Bosh does go to the all-star game, I do believe Bosh is due for a better season then every forward in the east other then JO, which means he should be in the all-star game. I am real high on Bosh coming into this season and I hope he doesn't let me down.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Iguodala:</div><div class="quote_post">Ppg: 16.3 Rpg: 10.2 Apg: 1.7 Bpg: 1.6 Spg: 1.1</div> ....serious? You actually think his PPG is going to decrease?

I love the raptors n such but it will come down to the coaches to say if Bosh gets in our not i just really dont think he will make it over Webber Jamison O'Neal and even Fatoine i want him too, but i think its a long shot and with Big Ben Big Z and Shaq all in the east it narrows the chance down even more
