http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/20668236/there-never-nba-draft-prospect-slovenia-luka-doncic I know some don't read the B-SPN, but this is a good article about a young player from Slovenia who may be the first non-American perimeter player to go #1.
There's a string of scouting videos on him just gone up on DraftExpress's YouTube channel, for example: He made the all-tournament team for Eurobasket (ahead of people like Marc Gasol, Dennis Schroder, Kristaps Porzingis) at age 18. He's not an explosive athlete, but comparable to people like Harden or Paul Pierce and similarly crafty. Plays hard on D, too.
6'8/230 (at 18 y/o) and can play point??! All seriousness, I don't think Magic was that big as an 18y/o. LeBron was close (and more explosive), but daaaaaamn
I'm truly jealous of who lands him. IMO he's prime Ginobli who is an elite rebounder for his position.
actually, it's the intangibles that impress me more... an 18 y/o 6'8" PG who's a Blakey-level gym rat and had Rubio-esque court vision?
Been watching him for years and have seen him play in person for Real Madrid. He's the real deal and should be the number one pick. I say this without actually having a vast knowledge of other 2018 prospects. Doesn't matter. He's that good.
Heard a lot about him lately. People say he's the real deal. Slovenia won the turnament, also thanks to Dragic, I assume. But he seems to be getting a lot of attention and I'm guessing it's warranted
He's legit. He and Bagley are arguably better top 2 prospects than Fultz and Ball. I think Michael Porter is very overrated.
Still conflicted on Doncic as a #1 pick. I know he's special from a basketball instincts standpoint, but you just don't see guys with his athletic profile picked that high.
