If Carolina wants a 4th for Fox that's about as much as i would do for his rights. Otherwise i would just wait it out through next year since he seems pretty intent on being a Ranger anyway.

Agree. Much like Shattenkirk, the entire world knows Fox wants to sign here. That would gives us two, smaller right handed, offensive defenseman in DeAngelo and Fox. Shattenkirk is gone this or next year. Pionk is gone as well if Fox comes here. They need a big, fast, mean, righty defenseman that can earn a job here. There are actually way too many talented, defenseman in the system. At some point they will move 2 or 3 in a deal for a elite, young forward talent. It's going to happen I just have no idea who or when.

Kaliyev is an intriguing guy they could look to trade up for in the 12-16 range. Dynamic scorer with Tarasenko type ability.

Doesn't appear that Rykov will be coming over this year. One more year over there and he will probably decide it's time.

Not a bad idea. Staal, Smith and Shattenkirk all have 2 years left on their deals. If Gorton can't dump them, he will buy them out next year. I would hope he would retain half their salaries, deal then in the draft. Either way, this will be their last year here. That much is common sense.

Kaako just scored a beautiful goal on a breakaway versus Canada in world championships. All games I believe on nhl network. Score is 1-1 after 1 period

He will be ours. Oh yes. He will be. Devils will take the small, American dude. Just like always.

I was a little worried he hurt his shoulder on the hit by loser Severson but he just skipped some shifts.

Kakko with the empty netter for his 2nd goal leading Finland to 3-1 win over Canada. Impressive this 18 year old kid on the ice in 2-1 game and of course OUR KAKKO NAMED PLAYER OF THE GAME

Well, if the Devils surprise and take Kakko, which I highly doubt, Hughes can take the second or third center spot for a couple years. I still look for the Rangers to make a big offer to move up to 4 and take Cozens if he's on the board. The Av's are close. They need depth. Rangers have it. I think a package of Pionk, Fast, Vesey and the 20th for the 4th gets it done. The Av's lost to the Sharks because of depth. Not enough defensive forwards with some size that could chip in a few points. They also needed another defenseman. If I had to make it Skjei, Fast, Vesey and the 20th to get Cozens I still would. We are loaded on the left side for years. Dealing Skjei would definitely allow us to go after Panarin.

I would go all in and package both 2nds with the WPG 1st and move up as far as possible, then call it a day having two top 6-7 players in the draft.

I agree. With all the trades and picks acquire, I'd try to come away with Kakko and Cozens.
