<div class="quote_poster">Brian Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Wade isn't really that far away from Kobe, and I'd take Wade over Lebron 9 times out of 10</div> I'am a Wade fan, but you cannot deny what LeBron does every night. With LeBron being so young, imagine what he could be by the time Kobe's prime comes to an end. It will be a battle of Wade and LeBron, (maybe Carmelo). At that time i would take Lebron to dominate all.
I'm not sure if Kobe is the best player in the league imo, I would definitely give him the award for player who can score the most points in a game. I think Wade, Kobe, Nash, Tim Duncan, and Yao Ming all make a big difference on their teams, and I think I wouldn't be able to make a good decision on which player is the best (and how do you determine best - especially with different amounts of talent on different teams, some rosters have players with big egos, coaching quality, etc).
I can hardly even form a rational thought in response to this article. It's among the worst I've ever read. Not just because Kobe is not better than Jordan, but some of the examples she gives and other things she says are just so unbelievably wrong and stupid. If this is the best case that can be made that Kobe > Jordan, I think it tells you the real answer: he isn't.
I agree Kobe is probably the best player in the league. But this article was written by a woman with a little crush on Kobe I believe.

<div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I still say Wade, and a couple months back when they matched up a couple of times some would agree with me on this board...lets not forget about him and what he's capable of doing.</div> You are absolutely welcome to your opinion. Shoot... you could say Donyell Marchall is the best player in the NBA if you wanted to... but right now, especially after what he has done in the past 5 games there are very few people (whether they like him or not) who don't think Kobe is the best player on the planet.
I can understand the debate for LeBron being the best player in the league, but Wade? C'mon, cut the crap. His game isn't nearly as well-rounded as Kobe's. Has Kobe's D been top notch this year? No, but he's still a very solid defender. His offense is far and away better than Wade's because his range is much greater. His driving skills are just as good, but he doesn't utilize it as much because his jumper is just that damn good.

He gets more steals, but he is not a better defender. You can't judge the two based on one game. On Christmas Day, Kobe was still not 100% recovered from his surgery. Should that be an excuse? No. But just keep in mind that Kobe wasn't in full form

You can't make an argument for Wade being better, he fails to beat Kobe in every category. Driving? He's equal, Kobe is still the best in the game (tied with Wade) when he goes to the hoop, but he has a deadly J that he can rely on...it's saving his youth). Defense? Please, don't even say Wade is a better defender. Smush Parker gets a lot of steals, yet he's a terrible defender. Kobe Bryant has all NBA team defense, Wade isn't even close. Why do you think Wade wanted Kobe to teach him defense in the offseason? Range? Kobe Bryant by far, there is no contest. EDIT: All NBA 1st team defense means you're a top 5 defender in the league... Clutch? Kobe, but Wade is right behind him. Kobe's made much more clutch baskets than Wade has, I'd actually give this an equal rating. Leadership? Can't even judge this, wait until Shaq leaves Miami or retires. There is no arguement to be made for Wade.

You can't judge Wade's leadership??? Why not??? He played without Shaq on his squad his first year and lead them past the first round of the playoffs (something Kobe still has yet to do without Shaq). You can't judge Wade accepting Shaq on his team and not bristling at the fact he has to share the ball and the attention??? You can't judge by the fact that Wade understands that he needs Shaq in order to accomplish the TEAM goals he wants to accomplish and not the PERSONAL goals he wants to accomplish??? I guess if you can't see that, then you can't figure out why Kobe has such an awful team. That not too many free agents want to come and play with him. You can't figure out why Phil left and Shaq was happy to leave the situation. Guess that all just doesn't make sense. Great leader, that Kobe... "I'll do whatever it takes to win games..." Yeah, Kobe, whatever it takes as long as you don't have to swallow your own ego... Kinda hard to argue with me when it's on tape...2006 Playoffs...Lakers vs. Suns...
<div class="quote_poster">djdiggydiggy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> Kinda hard to argue with me when it's on tape...2006 Playoffs...Lakers vs. Suns...</div> Yeah, we took the Suns to 7 games, lead by Kobe Bryant. Nobody even expected us to have a chance against them, yet we were one rebound away from winning the series

Lamar Odom and Eddie Jones were the players leading the Heat team, with a very talented up and coming roster. Let's also not overlook the fact the Heat are in the Eastern Conference. <div class="quote_poster">djdiggydiggy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> You can't judge Wade accepting Shaq on his team and not bristling at the fact he has to share the ball and the attention??? You don't think Kobe realizes he needed Shaq? You do realize Kobe deferred to Shaq and won 3 titles, he knows the ball needs to go through a big man to win titles. He's always acknowledged it. And you're absolutely off base with personal goals. Kobe's goal has always been to win titles. Shaq's goals are the one's you need to be questioning. Shaq wanted $33Million a season, Shaq didn't want to come into the season in shape, and Shaq wasn't committed to the game of basketball. This is the rift that Kobe and Shaq had with one another. If you're working hard and are focused on winning the title, and you're so-called leader (Shaq) is out of shape and not setting the right example, wouldn't you get upset about it? Shaq has even admitted he should have handled Kobe better. He didn't approach Kobe the same way he embraced Dwyane Wade. He also didn't drop weight and get his conditioning in place in LA, like he did for Pat Riley and the Heat. He accepted a HUGE paycut after he realized what Dr. Buss already knew, Shaq was no longer the dominant player he wanted to be paid for. <div class="quote_poster">djdiggydiggy Wrote</div><div class="quote_post"> That not too many free agents want to come and play with him. Great leader, that Kobe...</div> The Lakers haven't had a chance to even pursue top level free agents. The Lakers are capped out, they can't compete with teams who have cap relief and can afford to out bid for a player's service. What you fail to realize is the Heat haven't had any success in free agency either, for the same reason. NO CAP ROOM. I challenge you to find me 5 actual free agents who said they don't want to play for the Lakers because of Kobe Bryant. According to you there are plenty of people who don't want to play with Kobe, all I'm asking for is 5. You have some strong opinions, but you don't have any facts straight. Let's see you back up your claims.
