I think Jody Allen will probably sell more towards Lillard’s end of career. When the Cj and dame contract is up it will probably be a nice clean slate to sell for a new owner to build..
If they can build a sustained winner like contending regularly maybe even win one. I think she might keep it. Winning can be addictive.
I love how many times this line of thinking gets passed around as if it's actually based in facts. These are billionaires, if they're MORE worried about paying players big salaries (from a previous owner) than they are gutting the team to save money, they shouldn't be buying a team. No potential owner is going to look at a roster and say "say, you better trade that player so I don't have to pay him, otherwise I won't pay you 2+ billion dollars for your team!" When has that happened?
Im not agreeing with him, but I dont think thats what he’s saying. I think he was saying that after Dame and CJ’s contracts are up they’ll be passed their primes and Jody may try to sale it to someone who would like to build their own roster. Not because couldnt afford to pay Dame and CJ or dont want too.
That’s exactly what I’m saying. Plus the moda center lease is up in 2025. It’s a perfect time in theory for her to sell. Dame/Cj contracts ends, Moda Center lease ends, idk it just seems like that would be the time
Probably both. When I say"breakout season", I guess I'm citing this tremendous opportunity with a new very talented team and great team leadership. In my dream, Dame bonded bigtime with this cat.
