No one is untouchable. However the "right deal" is going to be very limited. And with Dame's comparison of James Jones.... I took it as a non-starter type player.

lol that was my initial takeaway. Dame is equating himself to Lebron and Ed to James Jones?

    For what purpose?

You think subtracting Crabbe from our roster makes us a better team? He's nowhere close to an addition by subtraction candidate.

And it's not like we'd have capspace even if we just lost his salary to go after anyone else.

Teams, it seems, typically adopt the personality of their leader:

    And this:

    Remind anyone of anyone?

I can understand the desire to dump a salary (or two), but we need to find another wing who can spread the floor if we really want to dump Crabbe's salary.

Dame has swag, and when he's on fire, he's about as intimidating as any other superstar in the league. But when he isn't on one of his scoring binges, you need a guy to start shit with other teams and ruffle feathers a bit.

Oddly enough, I think CJ provides some of that. He talks to opponents more than anyone else on this roster. Maybe we'll see Turner do it this year as well. Kinda like Draymond starting shit when things get stagnant, and it helps fire up Curry/Klay. But even CJ/ET don't have the physical intimidation factor -- it usually comes from a big man. Who is our enforcer?

Quick writes great human interest stories- he should probably primarily write pieces like this.

IMHO, this was the bombshell from the articles:
Lillard has had and still has friends on the team. Sometimes, these friends get traded, we've even had jokes about it. But his endorsement of the coach "I would like him to be here as long as I'm here," and now this. Wow. Ladies and Gentlemen, you may now remove Davis from your trade machine scenarios.

Yeah, I noticed that too.... but hasn't Lillard's endorsement been a kiss of death?

never that I'm aware of. There have been players he's been friends with who have gotten the axe. The only other public endorsement has been of Stotts, who if I remember correctly just got extended.

We're not communicating, it's all good. Lillard never came out and said we should keep those guys, even though he was publicly friends with them. He has reserved the "we should keep" comments about Stotts and Davis.

You left off Kaman, who by accounts I've seen, was very tight with Dame.
