Key word is SOME. But realistically if this is supposed to be a playoff type game, then the refs need to swallow the whistle a bit. I am about to just turnoff the game as it is really unwatchable at this point, and not just because of how poorly we are playing. I’m honestly happy hockey is back period. But these refs are atrocious. And if this was a call made by the NHL to call the games this tight then that’s even worse. At this point with almost no sports on right now the NHL should be trying to show off to a casual fan and get them interested. Imagine being a casual fan and this is what you tuned into see. I know I wouldn’t stick around to watch it.
Even the announcers are sounding totally over all the penalties. Great job NHL. You have a chance to show off the game and instead you threw out some pee wee officials that ruined a game.

What is frustrating me is the Rangers lack of decisiveness with the puck. The Canes are on them immediately be it on the PK or at even strength. There is no time to stop and think and analyze things. You have to get the puck and immediately keep it moving. You do that and you will get chances. Unless the Rangers get that into their heads they will continue to struggle and be outclassed. Now yes it is much easier said than done, but they aren't even close to making the quick decisions needed to have a shot to get good chances, possess the puck, and score some goals. That should be the whole discussion between periods.
Joe and Sam just said day-to-day and should be ready for Monday if needed. Who knows for sure, but it isn't crazy to think they wanted to go with Hank in game 1, so they said minor injury for Shes, just to take the pressure off and limit the second guessing. It is possible. With that said, this is not Hank's fault. Maybe they would be playing better with Shes in goal, but so far they are simply not quick enough on the puck. But again only down one goal, so still clearly have a shot despite the poor play. Need to kill the remainder of the penalty to start the 3rd to have a shot though.

Carolina is alot crisper handling the puck and making decisions. Could be some rust or just not enough jump. Maybe today gets that out of the way some. Get pucks to the net in the 3rd.
We aren’t driving the net for rebounds is what I’ve noticed. Rebounds seem to be there so far this period but no one in front to get it.
