Poor performance. Plenty of PP chances, just couldn't get anything going (0-7 is a joke). Let's hope they learned some lessons today and come out ready to play in a must win game 2 after today's crappy showing.
Think about how this game changed. 2-1 we were starting to ply better. Chytil catches a clear and blatant high stick and no call. Few minutes later, Canes player puts himself in a vulnerable position with McKegg already coming in for the check and he gets a penalty called on him. Canes score. 3-1. After all the soft ass, BS calls these refs made against both teams in the first and second period, to miss a CLEAR AND OBVIOUS high stick like that makes you question what the hell the refs are doing in this game at the NHL level.
Looks the players were thinking about everything but hockey during the suspension. Played horrible today
With all due respect, please stop with the refs. They sucked both ways. We were 0-7 on the PP. We were outclassed most of the day. Weren't quick or decisive with the puck. That is why we lost. Not because the refs missed a call on a day where they gave us 7 PP's and we did sh*t with them. Look forward to a must win game 2. Hopefully we learned something from today's game. As for McKegg, he was terrible today. I get him out of the lineup even if Fast misses game 2.
Played horrible totally. Looked flat and a step slow but the amount of penalties, and the questionable penalties that were called, really made this game a total bore. Refs did an AMAZING job at making this game unwatchable. Kudos NHL.
100% blame goes to pussy Quinn and the stupid fucks making the decision to start the third best goalie on this team. All you need to do is look at Shesterkin's record and the record of the other two guys. Enough said. This team has no confidence unless Shesterkin is in goal.
Asswipe, I said they’ve been bad for both. I’ve said that since the first period that they’ve been awful for both. And they aren’t the reason we lost. But they ARE the reason this game was unbearable. No flow to the game. No way for either team to really get into the game when you are constantly on a PK. It was an embarrassment to hockey how these officials took control of the game. These are playoff games. Call them as such. No way that there should be this many penalties in a “playoff game.”
This game wasn’t lost because of Hank. First goal wasn’t great, but the other two goals were legit. He also made some great saves to keen them in the game. We were a step slow all game long, which can be due to time off and also refs calling a ridiculous amount of penalties and ruining any chance of either team getting into a flow (which hurts the Rangers more as they are the younger, more inexperienced team).
Here is the positive. The Rangers played a terrible game. Were slow making decisions, and not decisive with the puck at all, yet still only lost 3-2. There is no reason at all they can't/won't come back and win game 2 and even up the series. They really can't play much worse than they played today. I have to believe they will speed up their game with some playoff experience under their belts.
Spare me. Lundqvist completely fucked up the first goal and this team has showed all year they are a below .500 team without Shesterkin in goal. Fact. You don't play your best goalie and play the third best goalie you deserve to lose. Total incompetence from the morons running this team.
I’m not a fan of them playing Hank. Shest should have been in. What this does, if Shest isn’t injured, is kill the kids confidence. Imagine if you’re Shest and are told “hey kid. We know you’ve been carrying us in your games and are the future and everything, but we’re going to go with our worst goalie out of the three because we feel he’s better for us right now.” That can fuck with a young kid’s confidence big time. All that being said, the loss isn’t on Hank. The loss is on the entire team. Slow to the puck, didn’t crash the net, PP was fucking ATROCIOUS.
Henrik didn't step up for shit Vali. He's not a starter. Get it thru your fucking head you dumb fuck. Wake up and realize the confidence in this team when they have Shesterkin in net.
Shesty wasn’t saving the second or third goal. And the refs weren’t swallowing the whistle in this game so those PP chances were going to happen. The first goal Shesty probably gets. Outside of that, what “confidence” do you know of? If they weren’t going to start Shesty it should have been Georgie though. Rangers went sentimental instead of best chance to win.
Pretty much agree with this, if both were healthy it absolutely should have been Igor. But as you said we didnt lose because of goaltending. 0-8 on the powerplay is atrocious. Fox was bad today. Kreider Panarin Buch barely showed up. Too many kids for them to be asleep. Hopefully they are ready Monday.
Slow to the puck. Terrible PP. Didn't crash the net. Panarin didn't do much. Kreider didn't do anything. Team overall was absent. Still only lost 3-2. They'll have a real good shot to win game 2 if they play even a little bit better. As for Shes, if his confidence is really hurt because he sat one playoff game, then he/we have bigger issues. I think he'll be okay, and he will start game 2. And it will only make a difference if the rest of the team actually shows up.
