Toyo Tires must be loving this exposure they're getting...

I can't help but wonder if he was high or had some weed on him to do a hit and run. Hit and run sounds bad, but it could be a disputable fender bender.
'Hit and Run' on no! he crashed into some dude and took off.. when in reality, he probably scratched someone's paint job and said, "hell no I ain't paying for that little thing"
The idiocy begins with evading the police.. he MUST have been high.

and chances are he has priors.. but probably from a long time ago.. unless there's been public intoxication incidents.

    From 5ounces of pain
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>osta Mesa Police Lieutenant Paul Dondero confirmed to FiveOuncesOfPain.com that former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was arrested on felony charges of evading, hit and run, and reckless driving in Newport Beach on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 1:35 p.m. PT.

“There were several collisions involved,” Lt. Dondero stated as he revealed the details of Jackson’s arrest to Five Ounces of Pain. “The first two occurred on the 55 freeway. The highway patrol was investigating those. Mr. Jackson fled from those and was first observer by a Costa Mesa motor officer driving with one flat tire while talking on a cell phone and weaving in and out of traffic. He tried to make a stop with lights and siren and Mr. Jackson ignored that and continued South on Newport Boulevard. weaving in and out of traffic and at one point crossing over to the Northbound side. At one point he was on the sidewalk and got into another collision at 17th Street and Newport Boulevard. He continued Southbound into Newport Beach running red lights and finally he came to a stop on the Balboa Peninsula and was taken into custody.”

According to Lt. Dondero, as of 7:48 p.m. ET Jackson was still in police custody. Jackson’s bail has been set at $25,000 and he was in the process of being booked through the Orange County jail.

Lt. Dondero indicated that there were no serious injuries as a result of the collisions.</div>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was arrested Tuesday afternoon at about 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time in Newport Beach, Calif. on suspicion of felony evading, hit-and-run and reckless driving.

According to Lt. Paul Dondero of the Costa Mesa Police Department, “A Costa Mesa traffic officer observed a large pick-up weaving in and out of traffic” with a blown out front left tire. The driver of that pick-up was later identified as Quinton Jackson.

The officer attempted to get the driver to stop, but he did not. Instead, he continued to evade police as he headed southbound on Newport Boulevard. At one point, the driver crossed over a median, “causing pedestrians to flee, going the wrong way on the northbound side of Newport Boulevard,” heading into oncoming traffic.

The chase continued with the driver hitting a parked vehicle, running through red lights, and causing more pedestrians to jump out of the path of the pick-up, one front left tire now disintegrated.

The pursuit eventually came to a halt as the pick-up stopped near the intersection of 18th Street and Newport Boulevard on the Balboa Peninsula.

After being taken into custody by the Costa Mesa Police Department, Jackson was later transferred to the Orange County Police Department with bail set at $25,000.

Lt. Dondero said that Jackson is also under suspicion from the California Highway Patrol of being involved in two other separate collisions that occurred earlier on the 55 freeway.

There were no charges of drugs or alcohol being involved, according to Lt. Dondero.

UFC president Dana White reportedly has flown to Orange County to post bail for Jackson, according to Kevin Iole and Dave Meltzer of Yahoo! Sports.</div>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>As MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) reported earlier this evening, UFC light heavyweight Quinton Jackson has been arrested in California and faces felony hit-and-run charges after allegedly attempting to flee police.

The Costa Mesa Police Department has released additional details regarding the series of events leading to Jackson's arrest.

According to a press release, "Rampage" ignored an officer's directions to pull over and continued "weaving in and out of traffic" while forcing "pedestrians to flee for their lives" as he continued "running several red lights."

Jackson, who was allegedly driving a large pick-up truck that's adorned with his own image, continued operating the vehicle even after a tire rubber disintegrated underneath it (see exclusive photos below), according to the release.

    The full release states:

A Motor Officer was monitoring traffic at the intersection of Newport Blvd and Broadway. He saw Jackson driving [south] bound weaving in and out of traffic, with a flat front left tire (and) speaking on his cell phone. The Motor Officer activated his lights and siren and initiated a traffic stop. Jackson ignored the Motor Officer and continued south bound on 17th weaving in and out of traffic to avoid being stopped.

Jackson drove over the raised center portion of the roadway at Cabrillo Ave. He lost control and drove up onto the sidewalk causing pedestrians to flee for their lives. Jackson regained control and continued southbound in the northbound lanes of Newport Blvd. As he crossed through the intersection with 17th St, he collided with a vehicle legally in the intersection. Jackson continued south bound on Newport Blvd running several red lights. The rubber from his left tire began to disintegrate at the PCH overpass. Jackson continued southbound onto the Balboa Peninsula running several more red lights, causing pedestrians to flee in terror. Jackson’s vehicle finally came to a stop at 18th St and Newport Blvd in the city of Newport Beach. Jackson was taken into custody by Costa Mesa Officers without incident.

Jackson was transported to the Costa Mesa City Jail and booked for; Felony Evading, Reckless Driving and Hit and Run. He was transported to the Orange County Jail and is being held in lieu of a $25,000.00 bail.

Prior to Motor Officer Barnes actions, Jackson had been involved in two separate collisions on the south bound 55 FWY. The CHP is taking those reports.

Jackson is a former Ultimate Fighting Champion title holder and fought under the name Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

According to Costa Mesa Police Lieutenant Paul Dondero, neither drugs nor alcohol are suspected to have played a role in today's events. Jackson was being held on $25,000 bail, though as we reported earlier today, UFC President Dana White is already in California with plans to bail him out of jail.</div>

Rampage is now out of jail and was never hospitalized as originally reported by TMZ

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Quinton Jackson released after posting bail

UFC light heavyweight Quinton Jackson, who was arrested on Tuesday after an alleged hit-and-run accident and subsequent police chase, has posted bail and left the Orange County jail.

The Costa Mesa Police Department confirmed the news with MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) this morning.

After being arrested for felony evading, hit-and-run and reckless driving, Jackson posted bail, which had been set at $25,000, overnight.

Jackson allegedly hit multiple cars during a short police chase Tuesday afternoon. He eventually pulled over and surrendered to police after traveling from Costa Mesa to Newport Beach in California. No injuries were reported.

According to a press release from the Costa Mesa Police Department, Jackson ignored an officer's directions to pull over and continued "weaving in and out of traffic" while forcing "pedestrians to flee for their lives" as he continued "running several red lights."

Police initially told MMAjunkie.com that neither drugs nor alcohol were suspected to have played a role in the incident.

UFC president Dana White arrived in California on Tuesday via private plane, presumably to post bail for Jackson.

Additionally, according to fiveouncesofpain.com, reports that Jackson has been hospitalized appear unfounded.</div>

I read on sherdog that 'Page has one prior felony in the state of Florida.

His head is obviously not right, his father flew into California today to be with him, according to his brother. I know he used to battle depression, I bet losing that belt to a very questionable decision threw him into a funk. Hopefully he can pull himself out of this funk. I don't expect him to do any time seeing as nobody was injured. Probation, community service, etc... is what I think he'll be facing.

I bet part of it, is that it was so close. That he might feel ripped off because he feels he won the match. (Tough call, it was close)

I this doesn`t interfere with him getting to fight.

I wonder what kind of punishment he'll get from the UFC. After the whole "you can't can't be a stupid dumbass if you want to be in the UFC" thing Dana had on the most recent TUF season, he'll look like hes going back on his word if he lets Rampage slide with a slap on the wrist.

Yeah but Rampage has put in his work compared to Jesse. Sure Rampage fucked up, but I don't expect much of a punishment from the UFC.

that's what guns are for [IMG]

besides he fights at 205, probably walk around at 225-230 Lbs.. so he's not huge like a LB, just twice as tough as one [IMG]

I stood next to Tito Ortiz, one of the bigger 205er's and he didn't dwarf me or anything.. he'd kick my ass in a minute, but he wasn't huge as per say

Brock Lesnar would probably dwarf a lot of people.

Bob Sapp would probably make Lesnar look small.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Quinton Jackson taken into police custody on Wednesday and sent for mental evaluation; new details about Tuesday arrest emerge
July 17, 2008 By: Sam Caplan Category: Quinton Jackson

TMZ.com was the first to report that former UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage” Jackson was taken into custody by law enforcement officials on Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. PT. FiveOuncesOfPain.com contacted the Irvine Police Department Thursday afternoon in order to verify TMZ’s report and attempt to obtain more details.

Lt. Rick Handfield confirmed that the reports were and stated that Jackson was near his residence when friends of his flagged down law enforcement officials after they became concerned about Jackson following several statements that he had made.

According to Lt. Handfield, Jackson was cooperative after being approached by the police. After speaking with Jackson, the police decided to take Jackson to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.

When asked by FiveOuncesOfPain.com whether Jackson had been arrested, Handfield stated that he had not. He also indicated that the police could not reveal what hospital he had been taken to or offer any updates on the status of Jackson’s current medical condition.

Jackson was originally arrested on Tuesday by Costa Mesa Police Department officials on charges of felony evading, hit-and-run, and reckless driving. He was released on $25,000 bail.

Based on information obtained through Costa Mesa Police Officials, this site reported that there were no serious injuries as a result of Jackson’s alleged conduct. However, the Daily Pilot is now reporting conflicting information.

According to the Daily Pilot, Holli Griggs, 38, of Huntington Beach, Calif., was driving her 2007 Cadillac Escalade in the left lane on the southbound 55 freeway just south of Bay Street when Jackson’s green-and-gray monster truck sideswiped her as it continued down the freeway at 45 mph.

Griggs’ injuries were described as minor in the article, however, she did require medical care as a local hospital. She also informed the paper through e-mail communications that she is 16 1/2 weeks pregnant. Griggs indicated she was not sure of the extent of the injuries sustained by her and her unborn child.

The article also reveals that Jackson was never given a field sobriety test because they felt he did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

A voicemail left for Jackson’s trainer and manager, Juanito Ibarra, was not immediately returned.</div>

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Jackson viewed upset UFC 86 loss to Griffin for first time day prior to arrest
July 17, 2008 By: Sam Caplan Category: Quinton Jackson

More details have emerged in regard to the condition of Quinton “Rampage” Jackson prior to his Tuesday arrest on felony charges of evading, hit-and-run and reckless driving.

Throwdown.com, one of Jackson’s sponsors, conducted an interview with Jackson in the hours preceding his arrest. The Daily Pilot is indicating that representatives of the company stated that hours before his arrest that they watched his upset loss to Forrest Griffin at UFC 86 with him. According to the report, it was the first time Jackson had reviewed the footage.

On Monday, Jackson had met with representatives of Throwdown TV in what was his final interview before his Tuesday arrest. Many fights fans have watched that video and have speculated that Jackson was not in a proper state of mind during the course of the interview.

Gary Alexander is a host with Throwndown TV and conducted the interview. After reading comments on Five Ounces of Pain in which people speculated about Jackson’s mental condition during the interview, Alexander contacted us to offer his perspective.

His account of the interview also contradicted the Daily Pilot’s report which indicated that Jackson watched the Griffin footage the same day of his arrest. According to Alexander, Throwdown met with Jackson the day prior.

“We were with Quinton all day on Monday,” Alexander stated via e-mail while speaking exclusively with Five Ounces of Pain. “We’ve known him for some time due to Throwdown’s sponsorship of him. We watched the Griffin fight with him and he told us that it was the first time that he’s watched the fight in it’s entirety. He analyzed the fight, pointed out what he did wrong and what he needed to change in the future. He was in good spirits all day, happy and was taking the recent loss to Griffin in stride. He was looking forward to training again, modifying his training to improve himself, cleaning up his diet and moving forward. We did not observe Quinton (as he has been recently described by the public & media) as ‘depressed’ or ‘unhappy.’ He was his normal joking, jovial happy self. We wish him the best and we will continue to support him 100%. He is and always will be part of the Throwdown family.”

Alexander also revealed that an explanation for Jackson’s perceived low-energy demeanor could have to do with the fact that he awoke from a nap shortly before the commencement of the interview.</div>
