...Via Stuart Scott on sportcenter Saturday night. Portland is the first team in NBA History to play it's firts 5 games in a season against teams that had 54 wins or more the year before. Obscure I know, but interesting none the less. What's with the NBA scheduling, and why does it seem like the league is punishing the Blazers? Is KP paying a penalty for being to good? Kind of seems like it!
The only "conspiracy" was an effort on the part of the league to exploit and market the coming out party for Greg Oden, by pairing him up against most (if not all!) of the NBA's elite big men.
...Sweet, awesome insight. None the less, just does prove how brutal this opening stretch is. Perhaps next year the Blazers could lobby for games againts the Kings, Clippers and Wolves to start the season.
Which is why going 2-3 would be AMAZING! IF DWILL doesn't go tomorrow night, 3-2 would be a cherry on top.
Our first franchise win against an actual established team (not an expansion team named the Cleveland Cavaliers or Buffalo Braves) was against the Baltimore Bullets and Wes Unseld. An extremely exciting win against a very good team. Until then, our only wins were against Cleveland and Buffalo......
I wonder if Dame is the first player in Blazers history to make 54 FTs in a row and then brick 4 in one game.
