lol, shape's still young at heart.

Giants with the comeback win over the Jets! I can't believe they've got me excited about football. I had written them off after the first two weeks.

The TD by Burress was awesome! Great stiff arm.

Yeah I try to stay young at heart, but I need to find other ways to do it. LOL.

GMJigga, god forbid that someone changes. What were you like at 17 years old? Then what were you like at 24 years old? Doubt the two were too smilar. She just grew up more, I don't see what the big deal is.

And think, those are the WORST POSSIBLE PHOTOS of her (if its even her....), and she doesn't look that bad in those pictures either (and that might still not be her.).

It's not the changing. You're right, everyone does that while growing up. This isn't long-term changing, this is fabrication of self. It's selling out to the glizz and glamour after establishing yourself as someone who denounces that lifestyle. Had her career been established as this superficial-pop, I wouldn't have this criticism.

I still don't get what your saying...fabrication of self? I don't see what your talking about.

She still acts like the same immature punk she used to be. Just the style of her music videos has changed really, and Girlfriend was good for what the song was, When You're Gone was an AMAZING video, and Hot, that video is the only one that sucks, and thats the directors fault, not her.

But she could be the same immature punk she used to be:

Could be, but that doesn't sell. My fabrication of self point can be summarized as her selling out to the commercial pop image, despite establishing her career as someone who denounced it.

Dyed her hair blonde, put on more make up, got rid of her skater-look. She's no better than those girls she was supposed to contrast, in fact she's even worse; she let the all mighty dollar quiet her morals and values, and she became one of them. It's that hypocracy thats rooted in her weak-morals and belief system that I find objectionable.

No, mostly everything about high school was superficial. Most of the people I know leave to go to college and become quite disillusioned with the whole experience. Many of the things that are typically valued by high schoolers are completely meaningless in the real world. But thats my opinion, I'm sure you'll find out for yourself and make your own judgements in due time

Yeaa definitely. Andre Dyson got owned.

Also, Aaron Ross > Darrelle Revis??? I didn't know much about him coming into the season and a lot of Giants fans were down about that pick, but he's played great since he's been made a starter and was the player of the game this afternoon.

Can you elaborate more. I never got into the superficial things, so I don't really know, but I'd love to know what will torment these people in a little while.

Well its not for me to talk in assurances; these were just my perceptions and the perceptions of people I've talk to since high school (keep in mind that chances are the people that I chose to associate with in high school shared similar interests as me, and might then share similar view points based on shared experiences)

That being said its an interesting phenomenon how a social structure that is created since as early as elementary school completely disappears after graduation. The notion of 'popularity,' and what makes someone 'popular' don't hold the same value outside of 12th grade. The jocks, the cheerleaders, the nerds, the goths, exist outside of high school, but the dynamic is different. Where you sat at the lunch table, which group you hung out with on the weekends (in a larger social context), and 'how sweet you are because you drank SOOOO many beers' isn't really admired as much. Now that isn't to say its an absolute. I've attended two schools, my previous one attacked superficial means of measurement, whereas my current state school will still grunt and cheer if you can beer bong 2 or 3 at the same time.

Of course, that doesn't mean that I chose to embrace these ways of judgement. Quite the opposite, while I might indulge from time to time, I don't take seriously these characteristics of youthful social strucutre that are being phased out after you get your high school diploma.

Oh. We don't really have too much in terms of those social structures at my school.

Ours is more like....Preppy Kids/Gamers/Hicks/Smokers...obviously everyone doesn't fall into one of those categories, but those would be the most prevalent.

Edit: 2nd in NCAAF, I'm near the bottom for NFL.
