Yeah, Mamba, it's been like that for a while. Management loves Noah, but "inside sources" keep saying that Conley's their pick, whoever the hell they may be. It's been that way around town for about the last two weeks. The only other player really in the conversation is Horford, who they'd take without question if he were there, but most assume he'll be gone by the pick.

I think I'm about to curse the next stupid person that calls me on the phone

Houston traffic will suck trying to get to the draft party...I'm leavin 10 minutes early and flying on the freeway, because I've been looking forward to the draft for a long time......I'm looking forward it to it more than the Finals.....

My friend told me he saw the point guard from USC getting a cut today at Levels - a local barbershop in the neighborhood. He said he was rocking a huge chain. I haven't really followed the draft, so who is he talking about, lol?

Nick Young? He's the USC shooting guard expected to go high this year's draft... Or it's the point guard Gabe Pruitt who is a second round guy...

Probably Gabe Pruitt. If you weren't a fan and you saw Nick Young, you might think he was a post player. The guy's about 6'8".

Maybe Young was in there getting how frohawk touched up though (pic).

BTW - I love how even the random thought thread is dominated by draft talk at the moment. [IMG]

    - And I just got the most realistic case of deja vu ever... probably because this is where I was during the draft last year, but still, creepy none the less.

    Yeah, it was probably him.

I always liked the draft... this is definitely my favorite part of the NBA year.

Draft > NBA Finals in recent years.

I think the NBA draft is the best non-athletic event in all of sports.

I just heard Ray Allen was traded to the Celtics... it's on another forum I don't know how reliable it is though.

    By a mile.

Who does everyone think slips this year, and who goes a lot higher than expected?

I'm thinking we may see one of the wings (Julian Wright, Thad Young, Al Thornton, Nick Young, etc.) slip into the mid-20's just because of team needs.

I think that one of the bigs (Fazekas, Gray, Gasol, Visser) will go in the 15-20 range because of the demand for size.

Also, this is unlikely given the quality of wings in this year's draft, but I'd like to see Alando Tucker go in the 15-25 range. I still see him in a much higher regard than most analysts. He'd be an especially good fit for the Warriors at #18.

^ NY's apparently given him a promise. I've never even heard of him.

I'm rooting for Afflalo to be drafted into a good situation (not necessarily a high pick).

My cousin played AAU ball with him.

He's from Benton Harbor (a.k.a. Benton Harlem) in Michigan, a really rough stretch of trailer parks and slums between Detroit and Chicago.

The last NBA player from Benton Harlem? Robert Whaley. [IMG]

Yeah, I was actually raving about him earlier this year. I'm surprised that no one really noticed when he declared. I guess nobody really expected him to stay in. He's a player in the mold of Julian Wright - a long, athletic wing who's tough on the glass and has experience playing in the post. I think the one point where Chandler is really hurt is that he played for a real small-market high major in DePaul. Scouts and the media in general didn't pay much attention to them last season.

On my overall draft board, I think I'd have Chandler in the 15-25 range, so I'd definitely be behind the Knicks pick if they went with him.

    BTW - I love Noah's hair! [IMG]

M and Co. will be updating the draft board in the Bulls forum if you want to keep up with the picks. [IMG]

Legacy, I?m not 100% sure if he takes steroids. He was there with his wife, and she had more muscle than me. I was hitting the 60lb barbell while she was hitting the 80lb one.

    Exactly.

If you take advantage of his weaknesses, you could easily kick his ass. He might look scary, he may be strong, but chances are he could be taken care of quite easily. Of course this wont always be the case, but if you can fight, you should be ok.</div>

It doesn't matter if I land 10 punches, I don't think the guy would feel it. I hate being a punk, but this guy would just one hit and quit my ass.

He looks similar to this guy, Umair.
