Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) Your fellow Brown People disapprove. I kid. I love Chem. It's so much easier than Bio, mostly because my teacher isn't a psycho (more of a pedo and a racist, but not a psycho.)
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) Bio was much easier for me, it was just like a History class (memorization, no calculations).
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) Fuck i did a presentation yesterday, had all my info, but couldn't put it together and rambled. Ahhh. It's my major too.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) I had the highest grade in my Physics class by far. Domination. Physics is easy, especially the trig based physics you will take in high school. Actually, once you understand Calculus, calculus based physics is probably a bit easier than trig based physics, although both are easy. I found physics to be the easiest, then biology, then chemitry. The problem is clearly with Shake's attitude, and not the difficulty of the subject. He says his 4 tests, and mid-report grades don't matter....yes they do. Assuming that the course is evenly distributed throughout the semester, and they are on the usual public grading scale, then yes, it clearly does matter. To get a passing grade for the semester, he will need to get a 71 average the rest of the way through. Has he shown the work ethic or desire yet to achieve a 71 average? So assuming he continues to not take these things seriously, and flounders through the entire first quarter, he will need a 93 average to pass the course for the semester. Does a student who get's a 27 average for first quarter have the ability to get an A average, after getting an horrifyingly low F average for half the semester?
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) No offense, but even if you slack off, how bad do you have to be to graduate with an average less than 70? I'm no genius nor am I one of those really hard workers, but I still maintain a 86 average.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) I was a four season athlete (football, basketball, volleyball, baseball and swimming) plus was on competitive teams in all those sports as well (after school rep clubs). So time was an issue. but the biggest thing was - I didn't know how to learn. There wasn't time to go over things again with me so I got lost once and couldn't catch up. Like I said the 3.9 in college shows I'm capable but HS isn't designed to teach much, it's about pumping out students to keep the quotas in check. Also maybe school is harder in Ontario then it is in Jersey.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) How were you able to join teams with such low grades? Wasn't there a requirement? Btw, I live in NY, not that it matters.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) You love Chem? Something is seriously wrong with you. The only thing I liked about chemistry was that it was easy as hell (I think I got a 97 in it soph year). Also, my teacher accidentally lit his shirt on fire during one of our lab periods. That was fun. Everything else was boring. I got a 90 on my psych exam and a 73 on my microecon exam. Whoa. I blame the micro grade on the fact that I had to seriously take a piss literally 3 minutes after the exam began. I was rushing through it so fast that I probably missed a page. Crap.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) Yeah, having to take a piss lowered my Math ACT score a few points. I feel you there.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) If they really want you on the team - they'll get you in. My ball coach was the science teacher - and look at that my grade made it to the point it needed to be. The football coach was my English teacher - volia! etc and so on.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) When I say they don't matter, it's not because I think they don't matter, they actually don't. But, it's the only thing we're doing. Fuck it though, I'm dropping it.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) No, public. If it was a private one, I would of been kicked out already.
Re: Random Thought Thread (NSFW) Loyola Maryland? One of my friends from HS is going to school there and I think he said he was going to see Lupe.
