Great start to the playoff run. Should be even better sunday. Hope refs continue to call all the bullshit flyer slashes and late hits. If they do this is over in 5.

Yeah, it's the younger crowd that does it, the old school fans lived it when it was relevant and new.

They actually did not need Hank to stand on his head to bail them out in the playoffs. What breath of fresh air AV style vs Torts style of hockey.

Seriously Step. So nice seeing some goals. They seemed tight though until the Richards goal but they completely dominated Philly in this game. Need to keep it up on Sunday

They played all around solid home game and deserved to win.

Giroux never seems to play well at MSG for some reason.

If Torts was still coach we would be getting ready for the 2nd OT tied 1-1 biting our nails and hoping Hank bails the team out until they can grind out a goal in the 3rd OT

I think Flyers will open up and play more wide open on Sunday. They were pretty conservative, I thought. I would expect much more goals on Sunday.

He would have them blocking shots all game long. Half of team would be in the hospital by 2nd OT.

Great game, Philly came at them hard to start the game but the Rangers weathered the storm. Can't blame Hank on the lone Flyer goal, if MSL lets it go that's an easy save for Hank. The Rangers defense was stifling 15 SOG in the game for Philly, only one in the third. No need to sink to Philly's level but the officials could put an end to this crap but putting guys in the box, smart move by AV to finish with the 4th liners. Funny how some posters dismissed the importance of special teams play a few months earlier yet it was the difference in tonight's game. Hate how the NHL has spread the schedule out, 3 day wait for the next game? Interesting stat on Giroux, when he scores against the Rangers the Flyers are 3-0, when he doesn't they're 1-13. The Rangers defense held him shotless, a commendable effort.

As far as the "Potvin Sucks" whistle/cheer goes:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-OET_am1K4

The cheer would have probably faded into oblivion if Denis hadn't admitted during an interview (think with Trautwig) a few years ago how much he hated it and how much it bothered him to still hear it so many years later.

Great game. Atmosphere was great. MSG was great. Team played a great game, and honestly even though it was 1-1 we were clearly outplaying them. It really was an awesome night.

Now we get to see in Game 2 on Sunday if this is the same old Rangers (Sens, Caps, Devs...lose game 2 at home after leading 1-0 in the series) OR if these new AV Rangers can maybe for once not do something the most difficult way possible.

While Mason should be back, I don't think Emery was the issue last night, the Flyers had 15 shots on goal all game. And I don't think he let in any really soft goals either.

The Flyers did what they always do...oh we are getting beat...time for us to be classless and cheap and start taking penalites (they even threw a check with under 1 second left...why). It amazes me how classless they are as a team. Be men would you please. Tip your cap and say good game.

As fans let's get behind this team. Let's stay positive. I see threads started knocking Richards and Nash early in game 1. Let's not go there. Let's let this thing play out and try to stay positive until things really go down a bad road.

I am hopeful on Sunday that the Rangers select the easier path for once and come out with the same energy and passion they had last night. That is a must because you know Philly will play better than they did last night, so we need to match that jump period end of story. I believe we will, but we'll see.

I plan to hit 1 game a round, so let's hope I have a few more games in me this season...:).

Chuck, I think this was the game the flyers had to steal on garden ice and in the 3rd in a tie game they failed miserably. I look for us to dominate them from here on in. And eventually as they say hockey players like Nash and St.Louis have to revert back to their hockey cards and score the goals they always did…………Well don't they ….. don't they.

St. Louis has been fantastic with his passing. That was a great pass on the Stepan goal. He has a great ability to get it right on somebody's stick.

I thought the Richards pass to Stepan for that goal was the really great pass, but the point on MSL is well said. He is a special passer. I just wish he could also deposit a few in the back of the net...:).

And while Nash didn't score last night, he was active and got a lot of shots on goal. That is more than we could say last year in 12 playoff games.

The goals will come. There were some solid chances last night that just missed. Looking forward to game two except I hate the day and time.
