So we traded Etem to make room for a stiff like Megna...Nice move Gorton. This guy Gorton has been a complete failure as GM here so far.
I hear you 94, but it isn't that easy...and not just because he has a NTC. I would be happy, but very surprised if Staal is traded.
Rangers CORE has problems................ya think? I have to laugh when AV puts Glass, Megna, and Moore out there in dying minutes. Too ludicrous.
Can't argue with that at all. You can add dumbfounded, pissed and would have laughed at that prediction. He was engaged tonight but as you pointed out as he's been all season just can't put the goddam puck in the ocean much less a net.
It was oh the D the D the D. I said it was the O all along, and at some point that will be clear. Now it is oh we need more than 1 scorer. I just don't think it has changed. We need another proven scorer. If we get that player I think it slots people in better. And I simply cannot believe Kreider and Hayes will suck all year long. If we add another forward they each slide down a little and put let pressure on those two. Let's start by adding a badly needed scoring forward and go from there. Tired of seeing crap like Moore, Stalberg, Megna, Glass and so on play meaningful roles.
I've said plenty of times I'm done with him. He is what he is. People were just enthralled what that ridiculous playoff stud label.
Kreider is simply a low IQ player who cannot shoot accurately. That's who he is. Misses the net all the time. Is not a smart player. Has ALL the physical tools...lacks the mental tools. Missing that empty net in the 1st period was laughable. Not much else to say about that.
Why is Rick Nash the promotional face of the Rangers? LOL This in itself is a joke......on every Rangers fan!
Nash was a complete beast last year up until he got his bell rung late in the season. Wasn't the same after that and here we are with him. He's most often playing it safe to avoid any potential big hit. He should be using his size and taking it to the net all game long. It simply doesn't happen.
Too young, size, strength, speed and talent to give up on him yet. He had 21 goals last year so the kid can score. Just for whatever reason hasn't done so this season yet. Theres still time to get untracked.
Hayes also made a great pass to set up Staal's goal, terrible play to start the 3rd for sure but Yandle had the puck on his stick and opted to throw it back to Hayes instead of moving it to the boards. Go ahead goal once again Klein abandons the front of the net to allow the wide open shot, Stepan failed to help too. McDonough has been playing good hockey lately, good to see. Girardi needs to get fully healed before he comes back, McIlrath is a more than capable backup. The top lines create plenty of opportunities that too often fail to put a shot on goal due to overpassing or inaccurate shooting. JT, CK and Lindberg are the top 3 hitters on the team. They should all be good resign values so I wouldn't be looking to move them. As bad as Glass is offensively at least he hits, I'm not sure what Stalberg is doing out there most of the time. Looks like AV is giving Lindberg the same treatment he gave Miller. I don't get it, no way Megna should be playing over Oscar. Peaks and valleys, 39 games left. No need to man the lifeboats yet.
Amazing how often this sorry ass team makes average goalies like Halak look special. McIlrath took a dumb penalty if you look at the result but I'll take that penalty almost every time because nobody else on this defense protects Hank. Like I've said all along. They need major changes. Hayes doesn't fit AV's system. He moves and thinks too slow. Kreider on the other hand is just dumb. He can't finish. Both of those assclowns could go in the right deal and nobody will loose sleep over it.
You don't want to overreact to one game, and there is a TON of hockey left, but that was a real bad loss last night. A potentially damaging loss I think. With games at Philly and at Wash coming up, one of which Raanta will start, this could be a bad trip and last night could be a very bad loss. I was never really worried about the D because we have proven pedigree back there. We have good depth back there with a guy like McIlrath. AND we have Hank back there, indirectly he is part of the D. I have ZERO faith in this O, and haven't had faith for a real long time. The D will have games where they look bad, could happen at Philly or at Wash, but overall big picture I think they will be fine and do what they usually do in big spots (Hank included in that). As games get bigger and tighter and closer to the vest I simply have zero faith we score more than 1 or 2 goals. We put way too much crap out there upfront for me to feel good about it. Kreider and Hayes have been awful all season. Nash is Nash. And I have seen the O disappear too much in big spots the past few seasons to think it will be different this season. The only comment I will make is if we don't add a proven scorer we will go nowhere, and we need that guy sooner rather than later. Add a proven scorer AND get Buch here for some depth in Feb and I believe we have as good a shot as any team once the tournament starts, but without it I have no faith we can score enough as is, and that's even with Kreider and Hayes getting better, which has to happen I think. Kind of the way I have felt most of the season. No change there.
