In that situation, with just over a minute left in the game, yeah he needs to make sure that puck doesn't go in the net. In that same situation, he also needed help from his teammates to prevent anybody with a Maple Leafs Jersey from taking extra whacks at the puck. Again, they didn't do that. The end result, overtime. I don't want to hear about every goalie in the league, because every goalie in the league wasn't coming off a piss poor 9 game home stand, where they were struggling to get points. Nice sarcasm though ...
Your not making sense. If there was ten minutes left he would want to keep the puck out of the net. What do you think goalies do? Oh I'm not going to secure this puck because I want to give up a goal here. Make sure? If goalies could do that they would never let any goals in.
I'm making perfect sense. I'm not talking about a shot from the point, or a rebound where he had to make a point blank save; he already had the puck under his pad and at the point he had to make sure that the puck didn't cross the line. Now it's true that the referee should have blown the whistle, and it's also true that his teammates should not have allowed all those extra whacks at the puck. Someone in a Maple Leafs jersey should have been on their ass, but none of those things happened and you saw the result. If you can't understand that, then you aren't the Messiah I thought you were.
Team let up one goal. How about finishing once again for our forwards. How about Nash earning part of his huge contract and scoring some freakin goals.
I understand about clearing guys. What makes so sense is about the goalie with the puck. Goalies don't always know exactly where it is.
