For sure Mess. If they win the 2 spot in the Met is done. Even if we win honestly it will be tough for us to finish ahead of them now considering how well they are playing, and their games in hand, but it could set a nice tone for our potential playoff series with them.

That will be a great series also. I have felt for a while somehow we would play them, but I have also felt whichever team had home ice would win the series, so that may be bad for us.

As for us right now, we need to keep this going. 3 straight wins on the road, and 4 of 5 overall. No let down against the Coyotes on Monday night. That is a game we should win period end of story. Let's get it done.

Torts type hockey game all game long. Hope they wont revert to this style permanently. The way they played the last two minutes of this hockey game was embarrassing.
Diaz was good. I was impressed with him. Was it just me or just seeing 4 on the rangers brought some weird flashbacks. I swear I thought the ghost of DZ was out there. lol

Yes Messiah. But we need to take down Phx at MSG. I think that is going to be a tough game they are playing well and playing Boston tough tonight. It just seems like with the Rangers the game Monday night vs Phx is a game they lose alot

Great point Dis, it is really. After two huge games against big division rivals, we cannot have a let down Monday, and you can see how one would be possible. Hope not.

We pretty much went with 4 dmen down the stretch. Diaz was the 4th. Also got a lot of PP time. Really good to see. Maybe we got lucky with him...hope so.

As for the 3rd, yeah I didn't love the shell, hope that isn't back, but the Devs were all out for their lives, so that was tough. They knew a loss and they were done, so they left it all out there. We played very well overall IMO.

How does a team overlook any game when it's in a battle for their
    playoff lives....it's crunch time.

Why has Diaz been traded twice in one season? Kinda reminds me of DZ with better IQ and poise though.

Diaz will be what they thought the other #4 would. With a much better shot.

DZ is retarded. Diaz seems to be much smarter hockey player.

The Rangers played the last two games like they were not going to let anybody beat them up. They are starting to fight back, and I have to admit I like it.

Great point jam. It is good to see them play with some fire. It is good to see Nash wake up and pay with some fire.

If we can get MSL going, and you have to figure he will at some point, and Diaz turns out to be a solid dman to pair with Klein after the big 3, we could be in a really good spot moving forward. Looking at our schedule I expect our nice run to continue through a 7-2 or so next 9 games.

And if Hank is now going to be a wall like we expect, we will be tough in the playoffs. The winner of the Ranger/Flyer series could be that 2nd team after the Bruins.

The western trip will be tricky with teams playing with nothing to lose.

you always get too excited about this team as soon as they get on some kind of streak.

I agree the team is pushing back. You know who was very physical tonight was Pouliot. He was hard on the puck and hit everyone. I think the Rangers are turning it up as they close things out and get ready for the playoff gear. We know we have some small players but if Kreider, Nash and Pouliot play like this we are much bigger

    Interesting.

I thought the CBJ game was huge and said so prior to the game. We won that, and I think it put us in a great spot.
On top of that I said last week I thought we'd be in the playoffs almost for sure, worst case as the 2nd WC.
Today BEFORE the Devs game, I said I think I'd rather play Pitt than the Flyers, again showing that I think it is Boston 1st and Philly 2nd at the moment.
On top of that I do think we will get on a very good run. Of the next 9 games, I believe 2 are against teams in playoff position at the moment. So I do fully expect a very good 9 game stretch.
LASTLY I have said for weeks and weeks that outside of Pitt and Boston the East is wide open and you can lay a blanket over the rest of the teams. Now that I have seen Pitt more, I truly don't put them in that class anymore. To me it is Boston alone, and then everyone else. As I have said I would take Philly right now as that second team, BUT if we beat Philly in our series I would take us.

That has pretty much been how I have felt for a while. So I am not sure what any streak has to do with it. I get that the tone in here is usually VERY negative, and you are also Step, which is 100% your right, but I don't think me saying it is Boston then everyone else in the East. And then me saying I would put the Flyers # 2 in the East right now, and then us in a mix with some others is crazy. And I do think if we win that Flyer series we could be # 2 in the East after Boston. I don't see anything crazy about that.

You should start a thread about dealing Nash Step and we'll comment on that...LOL.

Bottom line is I truly feel we are on a collision course with Philly. I have been saying that for weeks. I did waiver a little when we had those struggles going into the Ottawa game, but for the most part overall I have been saying it for weeks. And I also said I feel the team with home ice has the edge. I still feel that way and will standby it.

Compared to the last few weeks, the team defense tonight was 200% better, let's see if they can carry it into the rest of the year. I figured they'd give up 3-4 goals at least which they always seem to do in NJ, so that was a surprise.

Great 2 wins. I have no problem with the Rangers facing Boston or Pitt as the 7th or 8th seed. Honestly, I'd rather face top top 2 teams in the first round than later. I think that is the best chance to pick off a top seed. In the first round.
