Yeah, I think they thought they could re-sign Rant, when they realized they couldn't they were like oh F, we cannot have another Guentzel situation, so they made the best of it. Essentially, they ended up dealing Necas for two 1st rounders and two 3rd rounders (I don't view Drury/Hall as real valuable pieces). No doubt net/net they took a step back this season.
