Bitter isn't the word. Over the 10 years I've chatted among this group of posters I'd estimate Shooter has easily started 200+ threads bashing Rasheed. Positive or negative, I've never seen any fan so singularly obsessed with one player. When Wallace won a championship definitively disproving years of his rants, it only seemed to strengthen his resolve to smear him. We get treated to a few new Sheed/bad threads every time the clubs match up. Just laugh along with the rest of us, it will be over soon enough.

Imagine when Sheed eventually retires. "Rashweed quits again just like always!" will be the thread title.

I think I'm going to make a post about Rasheed Wonachampionship every time I read that incredibly retarded nickname.

it's actually a 5 year old Peter Vescey joke that Shooter thinks is both insightful and endlessly funny

    Hello darkness, my old friend
That's always amused me, the "He could have been Kevin Garnett or Tim Duncan if he had just cared. Whatta bum!" sentiments. Fairly incredible that a point used against him is that he should have been arguably the best player in the game, he just didn't want to bother.

you wanna talk about waste of talent....lets talk about Derrick Coleman...now that was a guy who could get 20-10 (maybe even 25-13) in his F'n sleep ...but just didn't care to! So, so sad

Coleman often DID get 20-10 in his sleep. When he was good, he was really good.

Ha, ha, ha. You made my day, Ed O. The closest Rashweed will get to the Hall of Fame is when he drives by it on his way to Palookaville.

Hey, it's fun!! Rashweed Wallace is easily the most despised and hated player in Portland Trail Blazer history. He's the guy who attacked a referee and was suspended for 7 games. He's also the guy who set the NBA record for technical fouls, two years in a row. He taunted Ron Harper for his stutter, threw a towel in Sabonis' face on national TV, threw tantrums on the court, and tried to attack Coach Mike Dunleavy in the locker room. Oh, and he and Damon were arrested for smoking pot on I-5. Oh, yes, and he refused to lift weights with the rest of the team for the entire time he was in Portland.

The guy is a classic nutcase, and it's endlessly enjoyable to celebrate his departure from Portland.

I always found that argument hilarious and it usually came from hack NBC announcers back in his Blazer days. I guess at that point there weren't many versatile big men so he constantly got compared to KG. Using that logic though, I suppose Telfair could become the next Chris Paul if he could just get his head on straight.

right-o. I checked his playoff stats from his NJ years (when he played like he gave half-rats ass...lol) he was an F'n beast!!!

    Play-off stats:
    1991-92: 22.3 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 5.3 apg, 1.8 stls pg, 1 blk pg (4 games)

    1992-93: 26.8 ppg, 13.4 rpg, 4.6 apg, 1.1 stls pg, 2.6 blk pg (5 games)

    1993-94: 24.5 ppg, 14.3 rpg, 2.5 apg, 0.5 stls pg, 1.2 blk pg (4 games)

These are some killer stats when it counts in the playoffs....man, if this guy cared about playing hard...he woulda been one of the all time greats.....seriously. All the talent....none of the passion....:dunno:

Yeah, Coleman and Shawn Kemp are classic examples of uber-athletes at power forward who just stopped caring. Their careers quickly tanked, they were traded around, and were never critical parts in contending teams after they lost some athleticism (basically due to them getting badly out of shape).

Sheed's been traded once since he came to Portland. He was the starting PF on a championship team, and a key contributor on several contenders (including here in Portland). Hard to lump him in with those guys.

If the Pistons make the postseason this year, it will be 14 strait years that Wallace's teams have made the playoffs

exactly...I can't bash Sheed....he still gets it done. And as much as some people don't like him chucking up 3's, he is making them at an impressive clip. One top of all that, I still see many teams contending who would'nt mind hving Sheed on thier play-off roster

Sheed's 35 years old and playing at this level still. It's hard to knock his conditioning or even to knock him for not being KG. Sheed's teams have not only made the playoffs all these consecutive years, they were in the finals many times - something KG only has done once.

Sheed has always been inconsistent. I said about him there were times he had me cheering ecstatically and times I was ready to wring his neck.

But most hated in Blazer history? Not by a long shot.

Really, there are few Blazers I have "hated". I can't hate a stiff for being a stiff (Stepania) or a bust for being a bust (Monia); if the talent isn't there, what can I expect? The only Blazers I would apply that word to: Bonzi Wells, Ruben Patterson, Shawn Kemp.

As for Sheed, I'm glad he's not on this team as he had become a major distraction and clearly it was time for him to move on. I wish him and his family well, and his team as long as they are not playing the Blazers. Any man who volunteers to be a "house husband" in the off season so his wife is free to do what she wants will not be on my hate list.

However, this is one of those things I do love about you, always here to ruffle a few feathers..
