I felt the exact same way. When I hear about people saying greatest movie in 20 years, I expected it to be amazing, but I mean it was good, but I wasn't feeling it all that much. Dark Knight - 8.5 Iron man - 8 The Hulk with Edward Norton - 8 Spoiler: I enjoyed the movies, but I hated the fact though that Iron man basically fought another guy in an iron man suit based on his designs. And the Hulk fought basically another Hulk made from his blood. Just not original supervillans lol. btw: 40 year old virgin > Knocked up > Superbad > Pineapple How is ghost in a shell. I've seen Akira, but I think that is the only Anime movie I have seen. What would be your top 5 animes.
I'm a big Initial D fan. Watched 1st Stage through 4th Stage (Each is like a season, however, third stage is an anime movie). Besides that, if you are looking for comedy, School Rumble is pretty funny. Besides that I don't really watch anime, I just read a ton of manga. Sure as hell not reading my school books. Anyone watch Hamlet 2? I watched it when it first came out and I thought it was really fun, however, I'm easily amused. Anyone else?
Abomination was made to strike down the domination of the Hulk and make someone fight him that has the exact strength to battle him and it made for an AWESOME final fight scene. They went in the right direction there. Iron Man made even more sense because of the angle they took to introduce Stark. You could tell, even by not reading the comics, that Iron man's first villain in the movies should be Iron Monger. As for Dark Knight, i do believe it is the best film in 20 years, then again, i haven't seen The Shawshank Redemption yet. Best film i've ever seen, in my 18+ years alive. Burn After Reading = 8.5 Brad Pitt is hilarious, every scene he has is funny. Clooney is good, Malkovich is a nut and there are some turns that are just like WTF. I absolutely love this movie. Number 3 on my top list this year after TDK and Ironman.
I wasn't all that impressed with the fight scenes in the Hulk, except for when he'd grab to pieces of metal and use them as shields or to smash the hell out of abomination. I enjoyed Norton as the Hulk, and the Russian or Slavic guy when he was human. Well I liked the way they introduced Stark, and the storyline. I guess I just feel if the superheroes struggle a lot at supervillians that are clones of themselves. The bad guys might as well continue just follow that idea and build bigger iron men, or get hulk blood. I consider the LOTR movies, Shawshank Redemption, and the first Matrix movie to be better imo.
Michael Clayton 7.5/10 Pretty good movie, it focused on a single case that I thought was a little less interesting than what it could have been (corporate "fixer"). Good ending.
American Beauty - 7.5/10 Interesting, strange. Good strange? I don't know, missing some. The Shawshank Redemption - 10/10 Classic. Top 3 in my books.
