Outlander -- 9/10 -- one of the best genre-bending sci-fi/fantasy films I've ever seen; how the hell did this fly so low under the radar? A seriously awesome adventure movie.
The Signal -- 8/10 -- I guess you'd call it an alternative horror/thriller film; maybe a little film school for most, but still, a crazy strange relationship parable zombie-type thing that you probably won't forget.
Agreed, I saw it tonight, didn't kill the franchise at all. 6.5/10, but seems like the director blew the big one here, not so much the storyline or the actors.
No, definitely not all of them. I definitely wouldn't have given the new Terminator movie higher than a 6, and Wolverine was a flaming pile of crap for the most part as well that was probably a 4 at best for me. However, I did see The Hangover this weekend, funniest movie of the year so far.
The biggest weakness I thought was the story. I wasn't really fond of it, and I thought character development was pretty weak as well. It wasn't a bad movie and as said earlier, won't kill the series (if any of them was going to do that, it would have been T3), but it's not as good as the first 2.
Film Drunk did a good job of reviewing it negatively, I'd link the review but its NWS, and Cinemassacre did a good job of reviewing it positively, though less thoroughly.
The Hangover- 8.5/10. It was pretty funny but I don't think it was as good as some people I've heard have made it out to be.
Wow, usually you and I agree on movies for the most part. I'm surprised you didn't like Wolverine. I thought it was pretty good action movie. Corny acting, but good.
I think you're on your own there. I know a good amount of people who've seen it and they all unanimously agreed it was the biggest POS they've seen in months, maybe years. I haven't seen it personally though.
I liked it. I went into it with the intentions of catching a good action flick...which it was. It did alright on IMDB - 6.8/10.
It was a movie I was excited to see, don't get me wrong. It looked like it was going to be a good movie. And then it ended up being total crap. The action sequences were cool and all, but much like T4, not enough to save the movie. The story was bleh and left a lot to be desired and the acting wasn't much better. I expected it to be better after the first 3 (even with X3 being kinda weak), but it definitely didn't live to expectations.
I loved it, as I stated earlier, though I can understand how you could leave disappointed if you've read and listened to other people rave about it.
