Ghost Rider - okay I had a feeling it was going to be corny going into it, but not only was it corny, but the action scenes were LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAME!!!!!......It was so bad that people were leaving in the middle of the movie and after it was over I had to make a special trip to Walmart to complete my Hannibal collection.....I watched "Manhunter" and "Silence of the Lambs" last night...I had to, because I had to get the "bad movie" taste out of my mouth.....
^^^I agree....I remember being so pumped up about Ghost Rider...BUT then I found out Nicholas Cage was playing his role, and I lost interest....I went, because my homies wanted to see it....I could've easily passed on that lame movie.....I remember reading Ghost Rider as a kid and I just didn't think it was possible to f**k up a comic book legend like that.....
The Departed- 9/10, movie was pretty great but I didn't like the end all that much. I think I went into this with expectations that were way too high though. Goodfellas is my favorite movie of all time so I was expecting this to be nearly as good, and it was very good, but still a notch below Goodfellas.
We are watching Hotel Rwanda in our geography class. The movie is tight, sad, and a little nasty. We have gotten half-way through the movie and so far it is a 9/10 for me.
<div class="quote_poster">Mamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">The only movie I ever liked him in was Lord of War, he was brilliant.</div>Great movie there Mamba, gotta agree. As for Ghost Rider, I say 6.5/10. While it was corny, at least it had some entertainment to it.

I love Nico!
The final straw for me, was watching Cage in the remake for the Wicker Man. The directing/writing was terrible as well, but watching him ask the same repetitive questions to a bunch of Amish people for 2 hours, while butchering a classic horror film was just too much. I did enjoy 8mm, though.

<div class="quote_poster">Mamba Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Denzel's a great actor, but I think his acting wasn't as good in that movie compared to Man on Fire.</div> Man are you crazy? Denzel is usually so passive, and such a good guy, yet he f'n hammered the role of the cold, ruthless, manipulative Alonzo Harris, he didnt win an Academy Award for this role for nothing, he was fantastic.
His acting was good in Training Day, no doubt. I felt he was so much better in Man on Fire, though and I feel Man on Fire is a better movie.
<div class="quote_poster">M Two One Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Give me some details on Baraka, Sasha.</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Wikipedia:</div><div class="quote_post">Baraka (1992) is an experimental documentary film directed by Ron Fricke, cinematographer for Koyaanisqatsi, the first of the Qatsi films by Godfrey Reggio. Often compared to Koyaanisqatsi, Baraka's subject matter is in fact similar?including footage of various landscapes, churches, ruins, religious ceremonies, and cities thrumming with life, filmed using time-lapse photography in order to capture the great pulse of humanity as it flocks and swarms in daily activity. The film also features a number of long tracking shots through various settings, including one through former concentration camps at Auschwitz (in Nazi occupied Poland) and Tuol Sleng (in Cambodia) turned into museums honoring their victims: over photos of the people involved, past skulls stacked in a room, to a spread of bones. In addition to making comparisons between natural and technological phenomena, such as in Koyaanisqatsi, Baraka searches for a universal cultural perspective: for instance, following a shot of an elaborate tattoo on a Japanese bather with one of Native Australian tribal paint. The movie was filmed in 70 mm Todd-AO in 24 countries: Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Ecuador, Egypt, France, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Kuwait, Nepal, Poland, Saudi Arabia, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, and the United States. It contains no dialogue. Instead of a linear plot, the film uses themes to present new perspectives and evoke emotion. The title Baraka is a word that means blessing in many different languages. The score provided by Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard (from Dead Can Dance) and Michael Stearns is noticeably different from the minimalist one provided by Philip Glass for Koyaanisqatsi. Notable music was also contributed by the band Brother. The film was produced by Mark Magidson, who also produced and directed the film Toward the Within, a live concert performance by Dead Can Dance. A sequel to Baraka, Samsara, is currently in production and expected to be released in 2007.</div> Anyhoo... Eh. 6/10
"Blood Diamond" I loved it, it really showed how rough the life in Africa is. Ofcourse it's not a true story, but in Africa, there are 200, 000 child soldiers and the life is crazy out there. :S DiCaprio was great in this film, he really fit in that character. Ya'll should go and watch this movie. At times, it really brought sad feelings.
Just saw Bridge to Terrabethia last night and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I'm usually not one for movies like this, but this one was actually really good. Ending was kinda depressing though, but didn't take away from the fact that it's a really good movie. 8.75/10
