It could backfire against trump and excite the dem vote. He probably feels by ramming some through would cause trouble in the streets worse than Kav and help his election chances.
Trump will nominate someone in the next few days and McConnell will be drooling to confirm that nomination. Hopefully, enough Republicans will say no. Only three need to say no. Lisa Murkowski from Alaska already said she wouldn't vote to confirm a replacement until after the election. Romney wants to fuck Trump over anyway and Susan Collins is about to lose so she needs to say no to have a chance at all to win, so there is three already.
Romney wont vote against as he's very radically pro life. In fact his Buddy that senator form Utah may be the nominee?
Confirmed McConnell called republican constituents shortly after her death was announced to talk about replacing her. Asshole can't even wait till her body gets cold. I will be glad when both he and Trump are gone, hopefully they get voted out in November
by the way. 2020 really needs to go somewhere and fuck itself...I'm tired of it fucking everybody else scary thing is there are still 104 days left to this horrible year
McConnell issuing written statement within hours is as classless as it gets. Jesus Christ. Can these fucks just die already.
February 2016 McConnell said it was too close to a presidential election to confirm a Supreme Court Justice. Today he said they will vote on whatever hard right unqualified nominee Trump names. Ginsburg's dying wish was that her replacement not be named until after election, but decency is not in Trump or McConnell DNA. Senate has been in session three weeks but has not had time for Corona virus relief or election security, but they have been confirming hard right judges. Some vulnerable Republicans might hesitate to confirm a nominee before the election. But they could in a lame duck session even or especially if Trump loses and Republicans lose Senate majority. Trump has said he will contest election results if he loses, a case that would almost certainly be decided by Supreme Court.
I saw this on reddit and I think it nails my feelings on this. “I disagree with her jurisprudence quite often, but she was a patriot and served her country. Her and Scalia reminded us all that you can have fundamental disagreements and still be friends and cordial colleagues, a lesson we all need nowadays. Prayers to her family.“
What do you bet that that slimy weasel will make it all about “context”. That seems to be a go to default when you have no other way to explain the shoe in your mouth.......
