This isn't the D League draft

    I'm aware.

Joakim Noah hasn't gotten the playing time to show what he can do.

Oh, and I understand that Rookie Rankings aren't the exact same thing as a draft order. I just brought that up to demonstrate that valuing Sean Williams can be done by a Nets fan in an objective manner.</div>

I'm lucky? I'm more of a Nets fan than any other team in the NBA. I just think Sean Williams is being overrated as a projected #6.

Yes, I'd take Brandan Wrigth over him; Spencer Hawes, probably half of the time; Thad Young every time, but I'm biased in that case. I'd also take Corey Brewer over him, the aforementioned five players, and maybe J. Wright, Stuckey, Thronton, Cook, and a few others who the verdict is still out on. If I redid the draft, he'd be picked higher than #17, just not by much. He'd be in my late lotto to mid first range, deservingly.

And what he can't do... which is a lot more than what he can do...

KC is right; it's too early to "re-do" the '07 draft. Re-doing the '06 would be interesting though, maybe even the '05.

See the problem lies in the philosophy. If you look at it as what they've done this season and shown, Sean would be high. But if you base it off of pre-draft mambajamba, you still could have everyone right where they were drafted.

There's the other question. Are we doing this by the draft order and what we feel teams should do in each situation, or just base it off talent? I think the team should come into consideration. With that said, I'll move on from what we already have and do #9:

    1. Portland - Greg Oden
    2. Seattle - Kevin Durant
    3. Atlanta - Al Horford
    4. Memphis - Yi Jianlian
    5. Seattle - Mike Conley Jr.
    6. Milwaukee - Sean Williams
    7. Minnesota - Jeff Green
    8. Charlotte - Joakim Noah
    9. Chicago - Brandan Wright

I'm going to go ahead and make the assumption that you don't watch Nets games.

    10. Sacramento - Corey Brewer (wonder why he's slipped this far considering what he's shown, and what he's expected to show later, but whatever, I guess people like Joakim Noah's hair or something).

Mambajamba is one thing, but if you know the players, their abilities, their ceilings, etc., then you can take into consideration their current play (in the what, 25 or so, games that have been played) and take their future into account as well.

    I still say re-do '06 or '05 though.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>I'm going to go ahead and make the assumption that you don't watch Nets games.</div>

    Nobody watches Nets games.

That's fair though, you can make that assumption, if I can make the assumption that Nets games are all you watch.

That's exactly what I mean by mambajamba. You can't declare anyone a steal or a bust really after 25 games, so that's what everyone will still go by.

You've inspired me. I'm putting up an '05 re-do thread.

I agree. Check out this topic I just made to re-do the 06 draft.

Well many people who post on this board watch Nets games.

And I have League Pass Broadband, so I do watch games that don't feature the Nets.

My point was not to get personal, my point was if you watched Sean Williams play I don't see how you can justify putting him at #17 where he was picked.
