I don't either, but if they do another CJ/Ant/Nurk albatross I'm gonna lose it. Grant is not that good.
grant changed his representation to Klutch. It's meaningless towards his free agency for all intents and purposes. We already have Nurk/Cam from Klutch. Billups is also repped by them too.
meaningless from our perspective. we have historically had a great connection with that agency. i don't understand why some people think any differently about players repped by them vs anyone else.
May not mean anything to us, but Rich Paul the owner founder will influence his thinking one way or the other as he enters free agency.
Multi-position defender, scoring at all 3 levels. No drama. $30 million per year average, 5 years, up to $35. That’s my guess and comfort zone. The Blazers don’t have the record, now, and his personality is low-key for making all star teams now or even in the future. He’s worth the money. He’s not a #2 on a contending team, but he is the 2nd most important unless Sharpe ascends, soon.
The market isn't what Grant is worth. It's what he is worth to us. His agent knows if he doesn't re-sign with us, we're stupped. Therefore, he's worth more to us than he is to other teams. We overpay. That's life. It happens all the time in the NBA.
We're in Jody mode. Clear cap space, get Grant his big contract, stay under budget. Fans love Anfernee & Dame, so what if the team gets mauled on defense? Just call these evaluation years.
No idea the validity of this since it's just a random with no sources or link, but sharing just because it's about grant.
No active threads specifically about this, but I was wondering where people are on this now. Both in terms of desire and expectation. Would like to add a poll, but I think there's too many variables. For reference, here's a basic breakdown of what some potential contract offers could look like with 8% raises.
Still think it's a no-brainer to bring back his salary slot. Only scenario i let him walk is if Dame asks out.
