You've been horrible at seeing the future in the past so this doesn't really bother me but if we give Nurk much more than 15M a season, I'm going to be pissed unless of course it's in a sign and trade that brings back players that will help us even more than he does... then I'll be happy for him because he's such a good guy but we can't have a really good big who isn't that much better than some bigs who make close to the minimum taking up a huge chunk of our cap space.
For the current market of NBA centers, I'd be okay with a very slight raise. 13 or 14 mil should be the max.
Yeah, not a lot of options out there that are better than Nurk. He frustrates the hell out of me as well, but I think our best option is to keep him and I am afraid it is going to cost us a little more than we want.
on a serious note, anything less than 17 per is nothing short of disrespect, 4/70 seems like a legit number hes already underpaid on his current contract and some people think he should get less than that lol
no, he is not underpaid on his current contract because in the first 3 seasons of the contract, he missed 111 of the 228 regular season games, and 16 of the 27 playoff games. Combined, he missed 127 of 255 games....essentially 1/2 of all the games Portland played. A half-time C
Is there a chance any team offers him more than the MLE? That, combined with him saying he wants to play where ever Dame is, makes it seem like we're bidding against ourselves.
Detroit could have 20M or more in cap-space and are rumored to like Nurkic. It doesn't seem likely, but if they offer Nurkic 20M/year I think Portland is in a bind other than them though I really don't see any team that would give him a big deal. Except for maybe OKC I went over the possible suitors in the previous page. Maybe I figured things wrong. One thing though is that Portland has nobody else over 6'8. And I sure hope Cronin doesn't fall into the trap of bidding against himself that Olshey did 3 or 4 times
I'd be shocked if Detroit offers $20m/year, but I suppose anything is possible. OKC isn't going to want Nurk.
Anything over $15 mil for nurk is a no from me. Too inconsistent to garner more than that. If Detroit wants him for 20, I wish him the best.
Here’s my question, if Nurk gets 18-20 mil and leaves would this trade scenario actually work? Would we still be able to resign Ant? Not a huge Turner fan but if Nurk leaves we would have to find someone. It says 2023 pick to Indy because it didn’t have the option for our 2022 pick yet. Also the TPE is being used with the NO pick to Det. I just did it as one trade but it would obviously be 2 different trades. This trade is based on us landing picks around 10 and 11. Dame Ant/Hart/Keon Nas/Winslow/Hughes Grant/(2nd-Tshiebwe?)/Watford Turner/GB3 That seems like the kind of team Billups wants, very long and athletic.
Horrible trade for Turner. Why tf would we essentially trade Nurk and a lottery pick for an even worse center in Turner
I would be happy with DSJ backing up Dame, but that would be a enjoyable team, if Turner can stay......well....you know....
I think the scenario here is 'in case Nurk leaves in FA'...This is not a trade involving Nurk, per se..
all that happened AFTER he signed contract, so WHEN he signed the contract, he was underpaid but you guys keep pushing your narrative
The year before he signed his contract, he played 79 games, and had negligible impact on net rating. His TS% was basically equal to Aminu's, he was actually a net negative on offense, and had an overall BPM of 0. His pay was in line with his performance to that point. If he were worth more, another team would have offered him more. There's a reason nobody did.
