    They are still facts.

Your narrative is "pay max contract. Even if he is injured during half of it before paying max contract" i.e. the facts you don't want to hear.

So it was relevant. Nice try.

you cannot put those facts in the context of his current contract, as it happened after he signed a contract, you can put those facts in the context of his next contract

some of you will really hate his next contract lol, trail blazers dont want smoke with rich paul

why? because you don't like it?

I mean, do you think injury-prone bigs have as much value as comparable durable bigs? Do we have to gauge the value of Nurkic and Zach for only the games they played and not how many games they missed? Do you think the Blazer F.O., or any other F.O., will actually anticipate Nurkic being available for 95% of the games during his next contract? or will they adjust the offer based upon his injury history?

why shouldn't Blazer fans on a message board like this want to see Nurkic on a bargain contract instead of a bloated one?

In the first 3 years of Nurkic's current deal, he totaled 11.1 winshares. In the same period of time, Gobert totaled 46.4 winshares; Sabonis totaled 22.0 winshares on worse teams, is 3 years younger, and only makes 20M/year

which is exactly what I'm doing. This is a discussion about his next contract. How he has produced in his current contract informs what he should be paid in his next

Nurk will see what the going price is on the market is and if he doesn't like what he seeing he come back negotiate a contract with the blazers. I see not getting not more then 15 million anything over that would be to high. Plus you got Simons and the same goes with him and someone will offer him and offer sheet and if it's to high you the blazers need to back away. What they shouldn't do is do what Olshey did where you don't have any flexibility.

I get that we got burned with the Crabbe offer. But Simons is way better. The offer would really have to be crazy to let Ant go for nothing.
You can always trade him later for value.

Detroit is a wildcard because they make stupid decision nobody understands. This off-season they may choose to keep Grant and offer Nurk a giant contract thinking that makes them a playoff team.

I mean last two years, they tried signing centers (Plumlee who was dumped, and then Olynyk). So it's definitely possible they go hunting again. I'm kind of rooting for Bagley to play well there so they just overpay him instead.

They'd be much better off taking a swing offering RFA Ayton a "giant contract" than Nurk, Sarver is a cheap SOB owner

Ayton already turned down the 4 year max. What makes you think the Suns wouldn't just match? Ayton was looking for the 5 year max.

I don't give big contracts to one way players right now that's what he is one way player. Something in range of Powell contract would be ideal.

I think Nurk stays even say Detroit throws a big money. Nurk about winning and being happy. The way I see Nurk leaves if the blazers low ball him then I wouldn't blame. If they give him a decent raise I think he stays.

With dame injured, maybe. Next year I assume the blazers will have dame and ant which are both going to be better than him and whatever they try to trade for with the tpe or sign in free agency. With hart and potentially Winslow being more important than him on modern NBA teams.

Nurk is a good player and valuable to a team but max contract for him is likely to have same effect as cj's too big of a contract was

after what the Blazers did before the deadline, I'd say there's no chance of that.

It's funny nobody mentioned how terrible this trade is for Indiana and just focused on if Turner is a good return lol
