You could be right. I'm honestly not sure how I'd feel about that... I definitely think we need a consistent, reliable backup PG, and his contract is at least a little more palatable than AC's, but if we learned anything in the playoffs this year, its that knockdown shooters are not growing on trees. And YES, I realize that Crabbe wasn't exactly a knockdown shooter in the playoffs, but in general, those guys are in high demand. Frankly, I think we could do better than just Rubio for Crabbe...

But why would Portland do that? Our second unit would consist of Rubio, Turner, and Aminu. Good luck trying to score.

Only to relieve some pressure from Crabbe's contract. But yea, the shooting on the second unit would be atrocious.

just saw in the nba offseason thread the nba all defensive teams and players receiving votes. one that stood out to me surprisingly was philidelphia's Robert Covington. he received more votes(including 2 1st team votes) than PG13, iguodala and jae crowder among others with a defensive reputation. is he attainable?

Covington has been on my radar for a few years now.

IMO he's on the same tier as Harkless w/ better defense.

We can't make an unbalanced trade because we are over the cap. But maybe Napier and Davis for Beverly. http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y92kleys
I actually like this trade and I think Houston might also.

    Ezeli + Meyers
    For
    Rubio + Bjelica

Would give the wolves about $24mil in cap space to play with this summer. Rubio would be a fantastic 3rd guard for us and shed Meyers salary a year earlier. Bjelica is filler.

I'd try and trade Meyers for Jeremy Lin than Rubio...

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Covington came in fourth in the DPotY award voting. I didn't realize he was that highly regarded defensively. He might be available, but he probably won't be cheap. Especially since he's a 35% three-point shooter. Not great, but competent--right around league average. Seems like a perfect complementary player for the team Philadelphia is building.

    Bulls cut Michael Carter-Williams loose.

A 6'6" PG would go well with either CJ or Dame, and he'd probably come cheap.

He's incredibly injury prone, though. The bright side is he's put up _some_ good numbers in the past. He might be worth a gamble.

He's one year past a pretty good season (when he played). He's not a distance shooter.

For the MLE, beggars can't really be choosers. Maybe he develops into a Shaun Livingston type. I wouldn't mind mcw.

I think he's worth the vet minimum. I wouldn't use the MLE on him, or any part of the MLE.

What's the minimum for MCW? 2 mil? That'd be a good deal, but I think he gets more.

Is he a good defender or just tall for a point guard? Height is a little overrated for guards IMO especially when you have Chris Paul on the 1st team all defensive squad every year who is under 6'.

You'd rather have Lin than Rubio?

Somebody needs to calm the fuck down. Allen Crabbe didn't even look good in summer league when he was the starter... Get over it.
