I had thought there were some problems with Young getting playing time lately anyhow. Perhaps we could solve those problems too.

Disregard. I keep forgetting that tomorrow I can start including Andre.

    Andre+Outlaw+Webster works too.

I think you are really selling Joel short here. Dalembert is a pretty damn bad player. Joel is very good at what he does.

Moving Joel to bring in Dalembert would be a colossal mistake.

What Joel does is rebound, and defend the paint.

    The last 3 years, his rebound % has been 21, 23 and 21. Block % of 4, 4, and 5. Averaged 5, 5.5 and 4 points per game.

    Dalembert's last 3 years, he has had a rebound % of 18.5, 21, 19. Block % of 5.5, 6, 6. And 10, 6 and 6 PPG.

Dalembert doesn't look as inept on offense usually and is a better shot blocker than Joel. Joel is a slightly better rebounder. I don't see how one is a bad player, and one very good at what he does? And how it's a colossal mistake. I'm not saying it's a great swap for us, but it's not going to torpedo our season.
Big issue is Dalembert being overpaid.

Dalembert is "pretty damn bad" based on what? In addition to what RR7 pointed out, I'd add that Dalembert has a 15.0 career PER. Przybilla has a 12.6 career PER. Przybilla is good at certain things, bad at others. Dalembert is at least as effective overall.

It would certainly be more expensive. But Dalembert is a couple of years younger. I think he'd be a pretty good long-term backup, who can step in and start, when/if Oden is injured, without being a negative.

    Based upon watching him play.

*nod* I think your observation has misled you, personally, since he actually has been productive.

But we can agree to disagree.

See IMO Dalembert is one of those players like Ratliff. When he plays hard, he plays well. But often times he just dissappears, or gets lost out there. He pouts. He has done that his whole career. I don't see it changing now, and the last thing I want is a another Theo Ratliff Albotross on this team. The facts are, that even if Dalambert played his best ball in Portland, it is not worth that contract.

I'd take Brand instead and PLAY him at center.

The Rockets should offer McGrady for either Dalembert or Brand, though. (Actually, McGrady's contract could probably get both - Philly would probably throw in about ten picks if they got that offer.)
