You can re-build and keep the team together at the same time, believe it or not. Especially when you have a lot of young guys like the Warriors. The most important thing is to hold on to most of these players, once you do that then the next move is to go out and get that big player to play around him. I've been waiting for them to get that star they need, hopefully they'll be able to acquire one somewhere down the line, to give this time a serious playoff run. Right now, I just don't see it happening. Maybe after a couple good draft picks, and then re-sign the players that you will need, then in a year or two we could possibly see the Warriors contending for the playoffs. But they have to play their cards right, something they haven't done in the past, hopefully this will be their turn around. Oh yea, and I saw a couple of you guys say "I hope this is a quality post." Dexter didn't mean it like that, he meant he rather have you guys post something that is worth it, rather than stacking up 3 or 4 posts just to up your post count, so don't be afraid to post some things. If it will add to the discussion, then go for it. But nobody here likes the post padding. So just remember, "quality over quantity" means we rather see you guys post something worth reading, in one whole post, than stacking up posts for people to say, "Wow, look how many posts he has".
I wasn't even trying to post pad. I responded to a post padding thread in hopes of turning the discussion around into something like next year's draft or changing the Warriors name to Oakland warriors and then was accused of post padding because I was involved in general discussion. But I don't think I was post padding. I may dominate more of the threads than others because I'm trying to get the forum moving so that people are encouraged to add their comments or check up on the forum frequently. But I try to be "quality". I might have been facetious earlier using the term "i hope this a quality post" because I was accused of the post padding by a mod and then criticized for writing posts that were not of quality. This was all cleared up though btw. Like I said to some people, I could care less whether I'm a "starter" or the kid who mops up sweat when a player falls down on the hardwood. Anyway with that discussion out of the way, I think the Warriors will do fine.
I think CHEMISTRY is the crucial word here. Last years team was no better than this years, but the one thing about this year is the team camraderie. Before the whole Damp trade thing recently, the W's were getting along alot better than before. I remember hearing about the team and coaching staff getting together at Damp's place for some fried shrimp and what not. CHEMISTRY... we should try to pick up some middle of the road FA's like we did with Claxton this past offseason. But let's see how this bubble team gets along in the final days of the season. Its past the deadline, so let's enjoy. GO Warriors.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Warriorfansnc93:</div><div class="quote_post">And Speedy</div> What about Cardinal?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting jayserinos99:</div><div class="quote_post">What about Cardinal?</div>He is an important peice to this team but he is not as valuable as J-Rich, Murphy, Speedy, Dunleavy IMO.
Cardinal is an important piece, but not irreplaceable. He can be defensed. The core that absolutely must stay is, in order of importance, Murphy, Dunleavy, JRich and Claxton. Cliffy is here through next year and the Warriors will probably sign either Damp or Foyle, probably Foyle. With Murphy and Foyle playing together, the rebounding would probably improve over Damp and Robinson.
Okafor will be a top 5 pick and hopefully Orlando will get him , if not the suns , hawks or chicago...or bobcats ...after that it depends how you guys end up.
I'd say draft a good point guard. Not a whole lot of those that posess natural quickness, playmaking skills and court vision. I'd say go with Felton or Jameer Nelson because Claxton is just too injury prone to be able to count on with heavier minutes. If we can't do that then please let's draft Josh Childress. We need quick defenders not more offense. Jrich can already provide enough offense but it doesn't help that we have more than one player that gives up all the points on the other end i.e. slow players that can't contribute on help defense and get back on perimeter D in time.

I think the order of importance is more like this... Jrich, Speedy, Murhpy, Cardinal, Dunleavy. I say get rid of Dunleavy, I do not want him. Murphy is ok, but I will judge him until I see if he has improved this season.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting custodianrules2:</div><div class="quote_post">I've never seen Jrich try to take a charge.</div>haha...I know you have a point to make...what is it?
Why are you hating on Dunleavy for?, Its just his 2nd year, and already his numbers are up, he's improving each and every time he hits the floor, and the decisions he makes on the court are very high-quality!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Rudeezy:</div><div class="quote_post">haha...I know you have a point to make...what is it?</div> Well first I've seen plays where Jrich is following his man as he's cutting around the back and he's trying to keep up and get ahead of him after his man has received the pass. Then when I see Jrich defend he makes his man go right at Dampier along the baseline after the ball is taken up near the sideline. Dampier comes out to help defend against the attacking guard while Jrich is forced to withdraw due to his lack of lateral speed. Dampier's assignment comes out a little or positions himself against Clifford Robinson. The Center who has the ball can now receive the open dish for a dunk or a pass. Depending on if Cliff Robinson rotates over on Damp's man, the attacking center then passes to Cliff's assignment for an easy bucket or kicks it out to the wing to score if one of the perimeter defenders comes to in to help. I'm not sure exactly what else can be done its just good execution if you can run backdoor plays like this and not anticipate how the ball is going to be passed. Long story short. Jrich can't move that great laterally to stay in front of his man if his man cuts hard right or left. Dunleavy just isn't fast enough at all. Troy Murphy same. So we got 3 defensive liabilities that can all score well and rebound, but it won't help if the guys get right to the rim for point blank points or short jumpers. Then again I'm wishy washy when it comes to whether I like this current team or not. It's exciting and all, but I get so frustrated with the stupid stuff they do. They can be great one game and then just be horrible the next.
Thank goodness we don't have Arenas anymore or we'd be getting this: ``To me, it just seems like guys are going out just to get numbers,'' said Brown, who scored six points on 2-for-4 shooting. ``They're not passing. If you look at the little bit of wins that we do have, we have 20-plus assists. Games that we're getting killed on, we have one guy with OK numbers, but he's just shooting. We don't pass the ball. We don't play like a team. We've just guys just whining and complaining about offense, and that's not basketball. It makes me sick.'' Brown didn't name names, but point guard Arenas felt the arrows in his back and responded with his own not-so-subtle critique of Brown. ``Everybody's getting the same amount of touches: If you ain't converting, you ain't converting,'' said Arenas, who scored 21 points on 7-for-21 shooting with six assists and six turnovers. ``Last time I checked, I pass him the ball, like, six, seven times, he passes to somebody else, right under the basket.
