Love this song. Eddie sings it with such passion. Seems like a good pump-up song.

The music is alright, but the reason it got a C rating is because of the vocalist. Dude is trying too hard, and often times he yelps. I like the guitar, and I like that they use a harp in some of their stuff. Good find.

My next offering is a three parter. It's three guys from Mr. Bungle who've formed what's known as Secret Chiefs 3, a group ranging from surf rock to doom metal. Though, they have a huge Persian influence as you'll see by this clip. I've already posted one of their songs (Exodus) here a few pages back, and here's a little jam session they did for a radio station.

B- Even though I don't really like that kind of music, I found it a bit relaxing for some reason. When I first saw how long that stuff was, I almost just left this thread

    Stereo 360 - "Automatic"

I found this band just skimming through friends of some Techno music band cuz I thought that chick looked hot [IMG]

I don't know man, I just couldn't get into it. The dude's voice was too monotonous and the music didn't really stand out in my opinion. I guess its a little catchy and energetic, but I didn't like the sound that much.

Well, here's my first post in this thread. Hope you guys like my recommendation. I've been playing it over and over for a while now.

So much emotion in the music, such a beautiful sound to the ears. 'Nuff said.

Damien's a favorite of mine. That's the song that introduced me to him. I was watching TV, and a trailer for Closer (the movie) came on, and The Blower's Daughter was playing and I was mesmerized. Three records later, and an undying love for his music had led him to be one of my favorite male vocalists. There's a part two of it, more of a b-side but it's not quite as good (though it was turned into Elephant). BTW, have you heard the Amie/The Blower's Daughter fusion he does live? It's one of the most amazing things I've ever heard. Also, have you heard about Lisa leaving? It sucks. Another BTW, haha...Seu Jorge and Ana Carolina do a version in Portuguese that I think is even better.

I did hear about Lisa leaving, but I didn't hear why. I actually heard about it the other day. As for the Amie/The Blower's Daughter fusion, I haven't scene or heard it, do you got it somewhere online?

Very cool song. The dude's got a powerful voice and the guitar was awesome. I couldn't understand everything he said, but that wasn't that important. I liked the whole unholy vibe the song created.

btw, thanks for pointing me to the Tool cover. They did an awesome take on that Zeppelin song.

I heard this song got really overplayed on the radio, but I didn't listen to rock when it came out, so it never really ruined it for me. Trippy video:

Easy song to play, simplistic, etc. but at the end of the day, Jack White is simply amazing. Yes, he was really overrated when the White Stripes first hit the scene, and yes, the image they reflect is odd, but the man is one of the greatest guitar players I've ever heard in my life (in terms of creativity, aesthetics, etc., not technical ability).

(kinda shitty quality on that YouTube video though)

Such a great song, from such a great band. Sonic Youth are so legendary, and Daydream Nation is still so relevant after all these years. One of my favorite albums. I know the song is from a different album, but I had to bring up DN. Anyhoo, here's my next one. I've been in love with this song for as long as I can remember...

I didn't know who the artist was, but I had heard that song before and I love it. Its got a real relaxing, folksy sound that is awesome to listen to.

A friend of mine sent me this song and I love it. Hope no one else has put it up already:

Yes, it's been played a million times, but I don't care, I still think it's the greatest song ever recorded. I can't quite put into words why this song is so great. It's not technically amazing, but it just moves my soul more than any other song out there. It's a very enduring sound. Jim was a genius, the likes of which we won't see for years to come.

"I see myself as a huge fiery comet, a shooting star. Everyone stops, points up and gasps "Oh look at that!" Then — whoosh, and I'm gone... and they'll never see anything like it ever again... and they won't be able to forget me — ever."

A- That keyboard player looks a bit creepy when he's looking around but that song was bad ass. I don't know what it was but it's just catchy, sweet song.

I'll repeat what I said earlier about Saliva -

"I've been way too overexposed to Saliva, because they're from my town. I bet Sasha's heard his fill too. They were okay on their first album, but everything after that was just trash, and I see a few of their band members around here and there at parties, clubs, and whatnot (particularly Josey Scott and Paul Crosby), and they're all grade-A douchebags."

This song in particular gets on my nerves though. The lryics are just amazingly trite and aren't written with any thought but are rather formulated so that they attract a particular audience (ala Linkin Park).

What's up with the video, btw? Dragonball Z? Well, at least they have their target market pinpointed... Dragonball Z-watching, emotionally frustrated 11-year olds.

(Yes, I know I'm an elitist asshole sometimes when it comes to music.)
