I used to play the drums (I learned when I was a lot younger) so I know I'm not completely horrible when it comes to music. I just hope I can pick up the guitar after awhile. Ok, let's get this thread back on track. Opitkus - B That had an interesting sound. I haven't heard anything like that and I think it sounded pretty cool. I like how it was unique and they used a bunch of different instruments. Invalid Video Link Pearl Jam - Betterman
A+ This is another one of my favorite songs. I love it. I don't know why but it always pumps me up. Great song. Youtube
B That was pretty good, the whistling in the beginning made it feel really cheery at first but I liked when they started singing. When it comes to slower rock songs for me, it's hit or miss. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I hate. That time I liked it. Invalid Video Link Just kidding, here is the real new song. It's newer compared to this classical stuff. Invalid Video Link Three Days Grace - Pain
F I'm not a fan of Three Days Grace, at all. They opened up for Staind when I saw them, they were god aweful. Sorry Swish....
Chevelle - The Clincher Invalid Video Link There's some good modern music . They put on an amazing techincal performance...they're not very lively...or at least when I saw them.
Damn, I love Three Days Grace, that sucks to hear. Animal I Have Become, I Hate Everything About You, Pain and Just Like You are some of my favorites from them if I'm in the right mood for their type of music. The Clincher - A Wow, I really liked that. That's the kind of modern rock I enjoy. I hate the really emo stuff (except Three Days Grace if you count them as emo ) and I don't like listening to any rock stations in my area because that's all they play. The screamo stuff is annoying as hell too. I liked the song you posted though, I had never heard it before. This is a modern song that I absolutely love. The music video takes awhile before it gets to the song but it's worth the wait in my opinion. Invalid Video Link Angels and Airwaves - The War
Staind - Mudshovel Invalid Video Link Say what you want about Staind, I love them. This is my favorite pump up song. They put on an absolutely amazing show.
I remember when I first heard and met Chevelle at a Gurnee festival back in 1996 when those guys were still teenagers. They're local boys, but I tell you they used to be really good. I'm not a fan anymore these days since they massively changed their image and altered the music. When I was growing up my friends and I used to cover their old tracks "Mia" and "Point #1," which are classics to me. Singing these tracks as a teen helped me expand my vocals into the heavier genre. They're the only good Christian band I can think of. If you haven't heard the old stuff, I suggest clicking those songs above because I made them into links. Do not rate them. Plain and simple, they were better on Squint.
B- I'm shocked, this is the first uptempo Staind song I've ever heard, haha. I don't think Lewis' voice is suited for this type of music though. He's not that great of a vocalist, and you can't really pick up on the emotion and pain in his voice unless they're playing something slow or accoustic. That's just what I've always felt at least; to each his own. One thing I will say though, that seems like a great atmosphere at that concert. The crowd's really feeling the music on a level I'm just not. New Song: Okay, we've gone a while without an RHCP recommendation (). Seriously though, I'm usually not on the recommending end of RHCP, and this song is particularly inspiring to me at the moment, so here we go. RHCP - This is the Place This song is really what turned me into a fanatic of RHCP. I'd always been a fan of their music casually, just like I'm into the Beatles, the Doors, Pearl Jam, etc., but then I got ahold of this album one summer when I was going back to rehab in middle-of-nowhere Idaho. It really made the experience a whole lot more beautiful and meaningful, and so every time I hear this song, I think back to those times I spent up there enjoying nature and learning to form a more intimate connection with the world around me. It reminds me of the nights I spent as a teen just gazing out into the mountains of the great northwest, a stunning visual. So go ahead, and bash... Invalid Video Link
A I love the bass line, the drums, Anthony's vocals are on point. Lyrics are amazing. One of the better Chili songs that I haven't listened to in awhile. Goo Goo Dolls - Slide Invalid Video Link This is a relaxing song for me.
A+ I love this song. I've liked it ever since I was a little kid. I just downloaded a bunch of older rock songs onto my iPod and I forgot this one. I'm gonna go download it now, great song. Invalid Video Link AC/DC - Highway to Hell (I love this song and I've been listening to a lot of AC/DC lately) By the way, this is kinda off topic but I'm in love with the song Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix. I had heard it before but never really paid close attention to it. I decided to give it another shot today when I was downloading music and I love everything about it. Now I know what inspired you to change your name, VC.
A AC/DC is classic. Although I've heard that song numerous times it seems never to get old. New Song Collective Soul- December Invalid Video Link One of my favorite bands. This song clears my mind.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Collective Soul - December</div> C It was alright, at most. It was endlessly in search of a climax. That singer annoys me so much, he sound like every other Eddie Vader wannabe out there. I did enjoy the drumming though, especially the tablas in the first half of the song. Don McLean - Vincent <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Wikipedia:</div><div class="quote_post">The song clearly demonstrates a deep-seated admiration for not only the work of van Gogh, but also for the man himself. The song includes references to his landscape works, in lines such as "sketch the trees and the daffodils" and "morning fields of amber grain" - which describe the amber wheat that features in several paintings. There are also several lines that may allude to van Gogh's self portraits: perhaps in "weathered faces lined in pain / are soothed beneath the artist's loving hand", McLean is suggesting that van Gogh may have found some sort of consolation in creating portraits of himself. There is, too, a single line describing van Gogh's most famous set of works, Sunflowers. "Flaming flowers that brightly blaze" draws not only on the luminous orange and yellow colours of the painting, but also creates powerful images of the sun itself, flaming and blazing, being contained within the flowers and the painting. As far as the song goes as a tribute to van Gogh as the man himself, the song reflects on the lack of recognition that van Gogh received. In each chorus, McLean says "They would not listen / they did not know how / perhaps they'll listen now," except in the final verse, McLean says "They would not listen / They're not listening still / Perhaps they never will". This is the story of van Gogh: unrecognised as an artist until after his death. The lyrics suggest that van Gogh was trying to "set [people] free" with the message in his work. McLean feels that this message was made clear to him: "And now I understand what you tried to say to me", he sings. Perhaps it is this eventual understanding that inspired McLean to write the song. There are also references to van Gogh's sanity and his suicide. Throughout his life, van Gogh was plagued with mental disorders, particuarly depression. He "suffered for his sanity" and eventually "took his life, as lovers often do". The word "lover" puts into context how McLean saw the relationship of van Gogh with his art - a relationship of love. This love was strong enough for van Gogh to persevere with his art even without acceptance from his contemporaries: "For they could not love you, but still your love was true".</div> Invalid Video Link
