B Sounds good. But I would probably get bored after a couple more listens, it just doesn't have that umph in a song that keeps my attention for a long time I guess. Nevertheless, still a nice melo song to listen to. Tool songs tend to drag on for a little too long, so here's one of their "shorter" 5 minute songs. tool - Prison Sex Invalid Video Link
Vincent - B I usually love folk rock, especially from the late 60's and early 70's, but I've never really been into anything from Don McLean personally. I can objectively say this is a beautiful song musically, but I just don't think his voice is that great, and I can't relate to the song's inspiration in any way. Have you heard Josh Groban's cover though?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Tool - Prison Sex</div> A Tool's songs don't "drag on." They perfectly fit what the intention of the music is supposed to achieve. Plus, chronicling Tool's catalogue, their music if averaged stands somewhere between 7-8 minutes long, which is not long at all. Charlotte Gainsbourg - The Songs That We Sing Invalid Video Link
<div class="quote_poster">M Two One Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I remember when I first heard and met Chevelle at a Gurnee festival back in 1996 when those guys were still teenagers. They're local boys, but I tell you they used to be really good. I'm not a fan anymore these days since they massively changed their image and altered the music. When I was growing up my friends and I used to cover their old tracks "Mia" and "Point #1," which are classics to me. Singing these tracks as a teen helped me expand my vocals into the heavier genre. They're the only good Christian band I can think of. If you haven't heard the old stuff, I suggest clicking those songs above because I made them into links. Do not rate them. Plain and simple, they were better on Squint.</div> Yeah they have longer hair now (that's true) but how have they altered their music? Just curious. To me they're like Tool but with better vocals, heh.

When I first heard them they used a lot of guitar effects and set themselves apart from typical bands of their genre. They always had that sort of Tool sound to them though, I agree. Their stuff now is really media friendly and drowned out. Typical approach of each song. The first sign of it was on their second major album WWN with "The Red" and other famous tracks, but that album was alright. Everything after that I just haven't liked as I explained before. I have the unreleased versions of their first two albums and a few tape demos. Also many of their older fans that knew them personally found it weird that they used to be against their current record company Epic and yet still signed with them after pushing away Squint. The reason a lot of people (Chevelle among other bands at the time) were against Epic was because they released Ultraspank, a band with a lot of potential thanks to their amazing vocalist. Given that band wasn't all too talented without Murray, but the point behind their demise was what startled people. Long story anyway with more BS behind it, but that's the short as hell version. lol

Tool's awesome though.
I like Tool, even more so after I seen them live years ago. MJK sounds exactly the same live and they kept plugging Jones to the crowd since he's local. lol
I have to give my analysis on Pink Floyd - Brain Damage. I give it an A, it's one of my favorite Floyd songs. It's one of those songs that just puts me in a chill mood, any cares in my head drift away when I hear it This may well have been posted earlier in the thread, but it's been stuck in my head all day, and the Stones rule It's just so smooth, so rhythmic, so easy to fall in love with Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter Mick is over the top like a mofo, but his stage persona just adds so much to any Stones song. They're on every front http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ8CHAA7-n8
Grade: B Haha, Mick was definitely over the top, I was cracking up. As far as the song goes, it was pretty good. I liked the guitar solo about two minutes in, that was pretty sick. Overall, it had a good sound and I enjoyed listening to it. Invalid Video Link Daughtry - Home
A I'm a big Daughtry fan. He's got a good voice and puts on an amazing show. I find his music to be relaxing, something you just can chill out to. I've posted this song before. youtube

Have you been to one of his concerts? I really want to go to one when he comes to Tampa. His songs are really great when you're just relaxing like you said. "It's Not Over" is getting a ton of airtime but "Home" has always been my favorite song by him (even though they are both awesome). Even some of his older stuff like from his American Idol days is sick (he had a sick version of Fuel's Hemorrhage during one episode). Anways here's my grade for Buffalo Soldier: A Speaking of songs you can chill out too all of Marley's music is just really chill. I like his Reggae sound and this is a great song. Some of my friends hate Marley but I don't understand why. He is very talented and I like a lot of his stuff. Invalid Video Link Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder
John Mayer - Gravity Invalid Video Link Even if Daughters ruins his career, I can respect a man for playing music with passion. Very soulful song.
I knew right away you wouldn't like that Maroon 5 song based off of your past ratings. I like the beat but yeah, the guys voice is a bit high and screechy. Anways... Gravity: C I'm not a big Mayer fan. I liked Waiting On the World To Change but I wasn't crazy about most of his previous work or this song. He has a great voice and stuff but I get bored when I listen to his stuff. Invalid Video Link Lazlo Bane - I'm No Superman (Scrubs Theme - I love this song)
F Sorry Swish....not my thing at all...I feel bad for rating it, lol. Audioslave - Cochise Invalid Video Link Another pump up song. Love the drums.
F!? You bastard. I'd like you to post all of the girls you lik... er, all of the songs you like to listen too. Just kidding, DREAM. Audioslave: A+ I had never heard that song before but I loved it. I'm downloading it to my iPod tomorrow. Like you said, the drums are sick and that song would be great for pumping me up before a basketball game or something. Youtube
A- Classic song. Thank god you switched, I wasn't going to rate Gym Class Heroes lol. Another pump me up guitar rift. Incubus - Drive Invalid Video Link
