The older I get the more I would say yes I am a conservative, but Republicans have gone off track since at least 2001. But they’ve been off the rails since 2016 in particular. By conservative I generally mean someone that believes in moderation, both in change, and in government intervention, spending, regulation, while also believing in strong civil liberties and rights. Republicans haven’t been conservative by that definition in a long time.
By all evidence that’s not true at all, inflation happens much faster than that. There’s a ton of inflationary pressures that are occurring right now that have nothing to do with either TARP or QE.
“Conservative” and “Liberal” are both good qualities in their own right. But they are words who’s meanings have been ignored and adopted by groups who are really neither.
