That would require Ellsbury and Gardner to actually, oh, I don't know... do their job and try to steal bases... something they haven't done well this year, especially the later half
Severino had been coddled in Triple AAA. No matter how he pitched, most times given one or two outings he would be taken out after 5 innings. Not at all surprised Girardi took him out after his 5 innings. Hated to see the team lose and leave their bats in the dugout. Kid deserved better.
I don't think it was that it was 5 innings, but that it was 94 pitches that resulted in him coming out...
I'll be damned if my players are going to be made to look the fool swinging at a dancin ball and I'm not gonna try and figure a way to reciprocate... And if I fail, I will tip my cap and move on...
And if you continue to disrupt my classroom master 59, you will leave me no choice , no bag of Cheetos during recess for you!
I hear ya.....aware Yanks aren't loaded with good bunters......I would just like to see "teams" (as I said) TRY and attack a pitcher with a couple/few bunts - just to make him move around, get out of his easy rocking chair as he's coasting along barely breaking a sweat.....I know we aren't going to see it happen with today's hitters- they hardly ever try and hit against exaggerated shifts. "We'll probably never see it happen, but I would like to see teams try and bunt a pitcher out of the game (so to speak) with whom they'rehaving alot of trouble...
