The Red Wings won this afternoon in blowout fashion at the Lee County Sports Complex blowing out Pawtucket 11-1. Fans at the game were treated to seeing a future Hall of Famer in the Wings lineups as Jim Thome went 3 for 3 with three singles and a walk. OF Dustin Martin clobbered a 3 run HR off the batters eye in center. The Wings pitching obviously stood out too. Kyle Gibson, who has been highly touted all offseason, started and went four VERY strong innings. He allowed only one hit while walking one and striking out three. Scott Diamond, a Rule V pick from the Braves who is trying to stick with Minnesota, went the next two innings and allowed the only Pawtucket run.

A name to file away is Spencer Steedley. He is a lefty out of UNC-Charlotte who missed last season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Steedley worked two scoreless innings today and looked impressive. He has a chance to be a southpaw out of the Wings bullpen.
