BTW I also know a lot about the NBA. The one thign i dont know a lot about is history because I havent been interested in learning it long.

Morrison has the better body for the NBA. He is tall, lengthy and tough. Redick is tough for his size but his size is his downfall. Morrison is better hands down.

JJ, and I'm a UNC fan.To say that Redick cant create his own shot is an absolutely RIDICULOUS statement. This guy was double and triple teamed by the best teams in the country with some of the best defensive players in the country, and he still shot the lights out. He creates for himself and has such incredible range that he makes his teammates better without even being a great passer. Morrison is the worse defender too, to all you people who said that hes better on D than JJ. At least JJ gives effort on D, Morrison looks like a big ugly stiff on D, constantly losing his man off screens and getting beat off the dribble. JJ has more lateral quickness by such a large margin its unbelieveable. The reason Morrison can get his shot off is cause hes playing against just as unathletic competition in the WCC, and because he's basically a 6'8" guard in a conference where most guards and SF's are under 6'4". In conclusion, [begin sarcasm] as impressive as it is for Morrison to beat up on St. Marys and University of Portland, [end sarcasm] Redick put up as good of numbers in the best conference in the country and on a team with 6 other legit scoring options, while Morrison has the slowest man in the country, Batista, and Raivio, who had a bad year. J.J. is the better player, plus he doesnt cry like a woman before the game is even over. Morrison, you aren't even a senior and your crying on the court when theres still a chance, grow up man, what kind of leadership is that, the only real player on your team and you start bawling like a baby with 5 seconds left in an important game. Come on kid, get it together.

Most of the time when he tried to drive, the ball looked out of control in his hand, and he hung the ball out a bit to far while driving. He didn't have any good moves or steps when he tried to create for himself, and that doesn't do well for someone that doesn't have a good first step. Unlike Morrison who doesn't have a good first step, but he had a pretty decent spin move for a big guy, he was good at changing speeds when he had the ball, and is much better at it than Redick was. I watched alot of Redick last year, and he was not double and triple teamed half as much as the announcers tried to say he was. That was just the announcers trying to be all over Redick like they always are.

When I say that Redick can create his own shot better, I'm not trying to say he's an Allen Iverson type isolation player, I'm saying hes better at utilizing screens and has a great up fake, probably the best in College Basketball. Sure Redick wont cross you over, but he'll find a way to get himself open, and when he does, he makes shots. Think Reggie Miller, I'm pretty sure it's safe to say he was a hell of a player, and he was probably on the same plane athletically as Redick, so I think J.J. is gonna be just fine.

What i'm saying, is that Miller didn't creat his own shot with the ball either. He moved around with the ball, got it off of a screen away from ball, maybe put up a slight headfake and then made his shots. Very little did he actually get the ball, and dribble to get open on his own. JJ Redick will have to do the same thing, move without the ball, run his man off of screens while he doesn't have the ball, find open spaces to shoot. He is not going to be able to get the ball and create his own shot off the dribble even half as well as Morrison will be able to. That is what my whole thing i have been saying is, when they have the ball in their hands, Morrison can create his own shot better. Redick is going to have to get his open shots by moving without the ball.

Running of screens and working your man to get open is just as much creating a shot for yourself as crossing someone over to do it. Either way you've allowed yourself to get open and take an open shot, which Redick is better at. Not taking away from Morrison, he was a great college player, but I just dont see where his game translates to the NBA. If you watch Gonzaga play, which I do a lot, living in the Northwest, most of Morrison's shots are contested. Oh, and that little runner he does from just inside the free-throw line. Although he can score like this in college against smaller players in the WCC, do you think he's going to be able to do that against the likes of Andre Iguodala, Ron Artest, and some of the best, most athletic, perimeter defenders in the league. I dont, but thats just my opinion.

If you go back and read on page two, you kind of said what i had already said, other than you said the Redick is better at creating his own shot period. So i had to say, that while he may be better at creating his own shot without the ball, Morrison is much better at creating his shot off the dribble and with the ball in his hands. Not only that, it is easier to shut down Redick and force him into an off night becaue he can't create with the ball in his hands, than it is to shut down Morrison and cause him to have an off night. This is because, a player that can create off the dribble better, generally has more to fall back on than a player that has to move around without the ball to get open.

But if you shut down say a Richard Hamilton, or someone else like Redick who moves without the ball so well, it opens things up for the rest of the team in a more positive way because thats one defender who isnt going to be able to play weakside defense and help out on cutters and people driving to the hoop. Maybe I'm overthinking this though. :happy0144: :dunno:

Morrison, because he's bigger, more intense (although really that could go either way), and you can teach a tall guy how to play some defense. A guy with average size like JJ needs more instinct and natural shutdown ability. And on the perimeter Morrison's going to have an easier time getting the contested shot off just because he has four inches on JJ.

Take away Shaq from Miami in 04-05 they would have made the playoffs. Take away Dirk from Dallas they still would have made the playoffs in 04-05. If his team went to the finals I would fly out there, and buy tickets to see AI win a title hopfully. And I would fly out to a lot of games if I had the money to do that.Yea this is my last post in here of topic if you want you can PM me.

Here's my chance. Finally.Morrison. Morrison. Morrison.Height advantage on perimeter defenders guarding him, more versatile offensively, better inside game, better at driving, does more on offense and can score more, and is more suited to the NBA game, because Redick won't get the same shots in the NBA. It's my guess that Morrison will wiin the Rook scoring title.Everyone read these couple of lines: The only thing that Redick is good at is scoring and shooting. Morrison leads Redick in ppg, and is better suited to score in the NBA well Morrison had a higher 3 point percentage than Redick. You could say that Morrison dethrones Redick at the only things he is good at. I guess that Redick hits more 3 pointers, but you get the point. I guess that Redick is good with and without the ball, but that fits the same bill as shooting IMO.
