yeah....they're my last two free therapy sessions for you...that's the connection...another predictably rude post..sort of like all those other rude constipated snark filled gems you must find on your scrabble board
I've met both Nate and @Natebishop3 and Nate would kick @Natebishop3's ass. I hope that helps and adds something to this discussion.
@dviss, to try to bring this on track, I'll just use my opinion. Not vetted by the NRA or the Christian Right yet, so I could be off... To one of the points you brought up, driving is not a protected activity under the Constitution. Weapons ownership is. So I don't think you can use that. Specifically, the state has registries by which they can suspend your license and sell the information to someone who impounds your car, almost at whim. The Constitution doesn't protect against that. It does for weapons. Now, if that changes at some point (maybe when millions of students not trained in Civics become voters and urge their representatives to have a Constitutional Convention?) that's a different story. For a marijuana registry, I think you must be joking. Everyone in OR, (and CA or CO or anywhere else "legal" to do so) who smokes marijuana registers their usage and purchases in a national database? In something that can be checked by a clerk at a store? For more on why registries are probably a no-go, ever, you can thank Kamala Harris: Except, oops, it wasn't obvious. And he wasn't admitted for a mental health hold. And he wasn't a danger to himself or the public. And never had (and still doesn't) a record. Someone with no due process tossed his name on a list that infringed his rights to keep weapons. He got his weapons back. So, um, yeah. Registries in the hands of government officials who don't like guns (or have tools like the no-due-process 5150 law, where if you've ever been taken in you have your rights infringed upon) are not what's going to get any traction going forward for gun control legislation. Did you know that you don't even have to be a clinician to deem someone a "5150"? Any peace officer can do it. @dviss1 , you trust cops enough for them to have a no-due-process, lose-rights-for-life card? Let's assign it to other rights as well. "Fuck this guy, take him in on a 5150. Congratulations, you never get to vote again." "This guy's being a dick and looks like he's Drunk While Black. Take him in on a 5150. Congratulations, you have no Miranda rights anymore." I know that we're opposed on how much we want government in our lives, but surely you can see that this isn't the answer, right? I'm not saying that there aren't answers, but a registry isn't one.
Yes, the small percentage of "young" people you speak of, who know nothing of America and blather on about things far above their limited understanding. They're stupid pawns being used by their stupid pawn parents who are purposely endangering their lives.
David Hogg is a disgusting and vile person, preying on children across America to further his pre-planned "instant" celebrity and promised CNN career.
