Fred puts in his work. In terms of game to game preparation, I think you look at out of bounds plays, and end of game situations. Hoiberg has been pretty good at both. I think he's just about shown that he's not going to be a bad hire. I'd be pretty surprised if he doesn't make it more than at least two seasons.
Well, for all the talk about the new flashy "Hoiball" offense, the Bulls currently rank 5th from the bottom in offense. Fortunately, their defense is 5th best. Hoiberg is first and foremost a "relationships" coach (as opposed to an Xs and Os coach). From what I can see, he's made all the right moves so far. He's neither a jerk nor a pushover. He uses his experience as a player to his advantage without overplaying it. I liked the hire when it was made and I like it even more now.
