The better team is going to win this game. The Bulls just didn't have the horses. Great game for Mirotic though.
This is why people invented true shooting percentage as a better measure of efficiency. Mirotic's game is designed around hitting threes and getting fouled, and neither of those areas are measured in field goal percentage. Mirotic's true shooting percentage is .548. A .500 TS% is about average, .550 is very good, and anything over .600 is exceptional. This is a fact: Mirotic's scoring efficiency has been very good this season. If it doesn't feel that way, it's because we haven't quite learned that hitting a 3 is 1.5 times more valuable than hitting a two, and hitting free throws are the tits.
At .339, his 3pt shooting is barely better than .500 from 2pt. I don't think he's getting fouled shooting 3pt shots much. He is 2nd on the team in FTA/36 minutes at 5.2. Harden is averaging 9.3 per 36 for comparison. Westbrook 9.8. Etc.
Well, your evaluation is wrong somewhere. . Everything is accounted for in TS. If you want to argue Mirotic's efficiency you have to argue that TS is somehow a failed stat. And unlike PER, TS is a simple calculation that accounts for 3s and FTs . . . and it says Mirotic is efficient.
