Ha, too bad. Mirotic ended up having a pretty decent game otherwise. I actually thought Noah-Mirotic and Gasol-Mirotic looked better than Gasol-Noah down the stretch, because both of the two bigs were so out of it. My takeaways: -- This Hornets team is the new Sacramento, a place where talent goes to die. They probably needed to fire their coach last off season. Big Al, Kemba, Stephenson and Biyombo . . . that core should at least press for the playoffs in the east, but here they are, less than the sum of their parts. The Bulls had nothing tonight and somehow came away with a win. -- Cody Zeller looks like he could be a star one day. He has a nice mix of skills and that dunk was something else.
Mark Schanowski @MarkSchanowski Happy for Kirk Hinrich to play a big role in Bulls' win tonight after what happened against Dallas. Kirk's teammates even happier.
Mark Schanowski @MarkSchanowski How about Thibs revealing Pau Gasol addressed the team following gut-wrenching loss to Dallas. That's what leadership is all about.
Sam Smith @SamSmithHoops Gasol said games like Wednesday influenced his FA choice:"The resiliency of this team, the way these guys have fought through adversity." Sam Smith @SamSmithHoops Pau on view of him: "I like to think my reputation is about being a pro, being a great addition to any team and being a champion." Sam Smith @SamSmithHoops Pau on last years in LA: "It was emotionally draining; it was hard on me after all the great times and teams. I needed to be motivated again

Gasol scores 19, Bulls defeat Hornets 102-95 Pau Gasol addressed his new Chicago Bulls teammates following their double-overtime loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night. He wanted to make sure the team would shake off the sting of the defeat and get focused on the Charlotte Hornets. Apparently it worked. Gasol had 19 points and 15 rebounds, Joakim Noah and Nikola Mirotic each posted double-doubles, and the Bulls handed the Hornets their 10th straight loss, 102-95 on Wednesday night.
