They both averaged about 16.6 minutes. Say their minutes stay about the same (maybe less?) and either would attempt 200 three's next season. That would mean, Tolliver at around his career and last season's clip, would make 75 three's. And Jerebko would make 73. So then, Tolliver would score 6 more points, total, from the arc over the regular season. In other words for the gain of 6 more points and some theoretical professionalism, (that Jerebko might match) Portland would be losing out on all of the other things that Jerebko does better that's all hypothetical. Maybe Tolliver will be a great signing. But maybe somebody like Jerebko would have been too. Bottom line is that it's reasonable to question if Tolliver was the best Portland could do, especially when they pulled the trigger so early during the moratorium. Might end up similar to 'signing' Stauskas so early last summer when there were a bunch of better free agents available
No doubt Neil believes in "the bird in the hand" approach early on to assure he at least gets someone at a position of need. Maybe he could have gotten someone better, but not getting anyone of value at the stretch 4 might not have been worth the wait.
We’re also assuming they didn’t offer Jerebko a contract. Who knows, maybe he didn’t want to come to Portland.
maybe...[snark mode on] that's probably why we had to endure 3 years of Turner [/snark mode off] damn...I don't think it turns off
I'm a little embarrassed by this but I didn't realize Koufos was American. I guess I though he was from Greece.
I knew he played his highschool ball here, because I remember him being recruited to Ohio state, and also the picture of him running behind tiny little CJ, but didnt realize as well he was born here. Guess I never bothered to look.
Dwight Howard and Jeremy Lin? https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2846264-landing-spots-for-every-top-remaining-nba-free-agent Landing Spots for Every Top Remaining NBA Free Agent
Portland still has room to add five more players to the training camp roster. They have one open spot on the active roster as well as one two way. Quick said they will go into camp without a 15th. The question is will they go into the season with 14 or open the final spot up for competition? It’d probably make more sense financially to add one more two way player. Hoard and whoever else can act as depth without actually affecting the roster and cap. I’m sure they’ll give out some invites either way.
Here are some players that qualify for a two way that interest me Brandon Sampson. That’s it. Lol. I wanted him last year when I was obsessing over two way contracts, and I want him again this year. 22 years old. Athletic 6’5 guard that can handle the ball. G league stats last year 17 ppg 3.2 apg 4.5 rpg 0.8 spg 46% FG 38% 3PT 84% FT
I'd really like Portland to pick up a real PG as insurance. Not sure who that would be... NBA.com says McConnell is still a FA. Is that true? He might be a good option.
