Yep. New NBA rule this year that any player who desires to go by "TJ" is required to play for Indiana.

What happened to Jeremy Lin? He's fallen so low.

My guess is that he's been offered a contract by many teams but isn't willing to settle for the minimum.

This guy coming to training camp.
"London Perrantes came into the PIT looking to show he can excel running a team in a different style of offense than what NBA scouts saw at Virginia, and did a very nice job. He led the tournament in assists, at 8.7 per game, made 43% of his 3-pointers, and played outstanding defense as usual. Perrantes isn't blessed with great size or length, at 6'0 ¾ without shoes, with a 6'3 wingspan, but he has a strong 200 pound frame and has superior overall measurements to those of Fred VanVleet (5'11 without shoes, 6'2 wingspan, 195 pounds) so his dimensions certainly aren't a deal-breaker. NBA teams expressed optimism about Perrantes' ability to carve out a niche, even if he will likely have to do it in a similar fashion to VanVleet. - Source: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/London-Perrantes-72586/ ©DraftExpress"

Yeah no doubt he will land on a team. Lin has made more than $65 MILLION during his 9-year NBA career. He should be happy with the minimum at this point.

Always cracks me up when people say what rich people should be happy with.

I'm one of those that STRONGLY believe that money can buy happiness. I've been VERY VERY poor and it was the worse 6-7 years of my life. I wouldn't be where I am today without going through that stretch of my life, but I can safely say there was nothing from that period of my life that made me happy. I am far from rich, but money allows you to experience so much more in life.

Yeah well it always cracks me up when rich people whine about hitting "rock bottom" when their salary drops from 12 million per year to around 2 million per year.

I think we need a PG (even if it's on a 2-way contract), so I applaud the move.

I'm not holding out much hope that he'll even get a 2-way as his G-League stats from last year are fairly abysmal.

Yeah I guess it is possible that no one has called him at all so he is feeling unappreciated. But more than likely he is finding out what many vets have experienced at his age.........teams only have room for minimum salaries. Take it or leave it. It is only August 1st, he will find a back up roll somewhere in the NBA. But his big pay days are over.

That was two years ago, he played in France last year. I remember him because I would watch biggies games in the g league and Perrantes was on the same team. Once you watch him once you’ll remember him forever, he’s got a distinct look lol. I don’t actually remember anything about his game though. His numbers in France suggest he’s a good passer and maybe has improved his shooting. The FT% are very good, so maybe he’s not hopeless in that department.

I’m much happier when poor than when rich. When rich, I was terrified of losing money every day. When poor, life has been simple. If I can’t afford something, I can’t afford it. There isn’t anything to agonize about.

It’s not about money. Or even winning. It’s about feeling undervalued and no longer being able to do what he loves at the highest level.
