Just when I think you can't be any stupider... you go and surprise me! I guess this is laying the groundwork for getting rid of democracy because it's obviously biased to the Democratic Party.

(Oh, and Libertarians are all LIBerals - so consider yourself outed.)

This will be my last post in the OT forum

The cheeto faced president is about to make it so that my ex-wife who was born with Wilson's disease loses her health care. He's trying to make it so that my son who was born with asthma is going to lose his health care. Even though Obamacare has slowed the rate of Health Care inflation, these insurance companies are still finding loopholes and jacking up rates. They don't have a replacement plan. They haven't had one for 6 years. They can't find a replacement plan because their plan was Obamacare since 92... Obamacare was Bob Dole's response to Hillary care. It Was Written line for line mandate in all by the Heritage Foundation. Your beloved right-wing think-tank. Trump doesn't give a fuck if we die. That's the truth. Those of you who voted for that don't give a shit either. When he cuts your grandmother's Medicare maybe then you'll give a shit.

Proof, as if we needed it, that Denny has never worked outside of his home. I must say when I worked at Booker Cash and Carry (the English equivalent of Sam's Club) on an industrial estate outside of Exeter that it was not my experience that me stacking shelves while a bunch of people hid round the back smoking (a) affected our pay in any way, and (b) resulted from Booker being a state-run-socialist institution.

Conversely, in your beloved Post Office, amazingly enough there are different positions paid at different rates! Could it be that you view the world in a cartoonishly oversimplified fashion? Surely not!

I was raised Catholic. I haven't practiced the "brand" in over 40 years. I have tried to take the Christian aspects (that are supposed to be the basis of all western religions) and let them guide me. It's supposed to be about looking out for each other, especially those who can't look out for themselves. Like everyone else, I stumble and fall every day. But at least I try. I'm all for major reform within the Catholic faith and think the current pope is at least heading in a better direction. But I don't really have a dog in that fight anymore. That said, I believe organized religion in most if not all cases is a scam aimed at manipulating those who can't think for themselves. And as far as "claiming" to be Catholic, I was born one and I can no more shed that label than you can shed the Englishman label regardless of how long you have lived elsewhere and despite what legal citizenship you hold. It's an identity thing. And yeah, I am anti abortion. But, in line with my Catholic upbringing, we all have a free will and a conscience. We all have choices and (I believe anyway) that we will be judged on those choices. So if someone wants to have an abortion, that's on them. I have no God given right or moral authority to prevent that. Maybe if Planned Parenthood wasn't under such an attack and/or conservatives would get behind birth control education and resources in a serious way the abortion isssue would slowly fade away. But good luck with that....

Race (and particularly discrimination) obviously has a lot to do with it, or the numbers would be the same (per 10,000 people, whatever) regardless of race.

More black people are in poverty, with lower education rates and higher numbers addicted to illegal substances.

That is the reason for their higher crime numbers. Not the color of their skin.

The color of their skin is the reason for the discrimination.

The Democrats who ran chicago zoned black neighborhoods for toxic waste dumps, and just this week, the cops were cited for taking young black men to gang neighborhoods, tipping off the gangs, and having the gangs do what they would like to do in the first place.

Chicago isn't an isolated situation. Ferguson, Baltimore, NYC, LA, and so on.

I'm not talking about discrimination. I'm talking about the higher crime numbers among African American communities.

But I agree with the rest of your post. And it's no coincidence that all of those cities have been run by Democrats for decades.

When individuals do not talk, officers will drop them off in dangerous areas or gang territories. We reviewed a publicly available video that appears to capture one instance of an officer displaying a youth in police custody to a group of individuals gathered in a rival gang territory. The video shows CPD officers standing around a marked CPD vehicle with the back doors wide open and a young male detained in the rear. Officers permit a crowd of male youths to surround the car and shout at the adolescent. The crowd can be seen flashing hand gestures that look like gang signs and threatening the cowering teenager in the backseat. One of the males in the crowd appears to have freely recorded the interactions all while CPD officers stood beside the open vehicle doors. The video does not show any legitimate law enforcement purpose in allowing the youth to be threatened.

Discrimination is the source of most of the problems in the inner cities. When blacks are allowed to form enterprise, they excel like anyone else. When white people, with the help of the cops, burn down their businesses and neighborhoods, they figure "what's the point anymore?"

    What the fuck?

Yeah, here's a clue: we're not living in 1921 or under Jim Crow anymore. "When white people burn down their businesses...." what a bunch of crap. The last time I saw a riot in the hood, those weren't white people burning and looting businesses.

Look, I'm all for giving the African American community better education and better jobs so that they can move out of the hood and get a better life. And I agree that many of them don't have it easy in this country.

But let's also hold them accountable for criminal activity with which they are responsible for. It's a sad fact that many are responsible for their own demise. Discrimination didn't put a gun in Tyrone's hand so that he could go shoot an innocent person in South Side Chicago. And the white man didn't put him in a gang.

I'm all for helping out the AA community, and ending poverty and gang violence. But let's be a little objective about it.

That being said....no white person has any business trying to help the black community. It rarely ever works. The change needs to come from within, and from those who can relate to them. And that's not any white person, no matter how similar they may be.
