You should also be aware that Darko will never be as good as Carmello. I'm convinced that third pick of the 2003 draft is possibly the best rookie to enter the league since the third pick of 1984.</div>

Darko will never be as good as Carmelo? How do you know this?

He can see into the future?

Anyway, yeah, Artest and Bowen are the two primary "lock-down" defenders in the league (note I say primary, not only). Artest successfully held Rashard Lewis to a measly 8 points when facing the Sonics earlier this season. Bowen, likewise, held down Kobe in a similar manner.

I ask you BallerAK, if you had to had someone on the prime player... say Kobe Bryant... I can name 3 players I rather have on him... and for a post defense... I can also name 3-5 players I rather have on the ball than AK.

Note: I did put him on my all D team.</div>I wasn't saying he was the best defender in the league. I also wasn't saying I would choice him first in a situation agaisnt certain players at a certain time. I was just making the case of why he should definitely be on the All Defensive Team as of right now.

Oh and whoever made the comment about Kirilenko not being a "great" defender. Well if he is not a great one he is a pretty damn good one.

I also think people are missing the point that this is the "season so far" awards.
Overall, yeah maybe Kirilenko wouldn't be on the All-Defensive 1st Team, but as of what he has done RIGHT NOW he is.

That would be me. And based on your comment, I can tell you either didn't read what I wrote entirely, failed to comprehend it, or just picked out a few words and ignored the rest of it.

Which was my point. I see what you're trying to say witht he rest of your tidbit regarding that certain situation. I understand, it's part of defensive strategy.

Yeah, I know it was your point. I was agreeing with you. If Kirilenko was a lock down defender, he would have been placed on Robinson.

But since he isn't, its best to utilize his strengths, which is weakside help. Which is why he wasn't placed on Robinson.
