I also thought Crabbe did very well , and really seemed to know his place. I am expecting him to be very complimentary off the bench this year.

this is probably about where the line draws with our agreement. :)
tlongII, here is the thing. Your obviously a die hard Blazers fan, but how long are you gonna sit in the corner and pout? It is what it is and it's pretty clear the majority of fans think this team will be at least a slight bit better than what is predicted. Even two other GMs from around the NBA has praised NO and what he has done.... taking a two year rebuild and getting it done in only a few weeks. Isn't there anything you see positive that you can latch on to to help raise your spirits and hopes?
I'm not trying to pick on you, honest. :)

You didn't think Vonleh showed signs of being able to contribute as he continues to learn? You didn't see flashes of remarkability in Montero's very raw game?
You didn't see Frazier's swagger and ability to penetrate almost everything and still find the open guys more often than not? His court leadership?

What I took away from this team, and mostly from the guys who will get an invite and make the team, is this:

Defense and determination. These guys played very good defense for the lack of time and preparation. I thought rotations were good and most of the time they were in the right spots when needed to be.
These guys were down in the fourth quarter of the final, consolation game that means nothing. Did you see the hustle and scrappy play to win the game? This is the type of effort, play and mindset we need more of on our team. Even if they ride the bench, they will put it to the starters in practice. We need guys that go all out no matter what, so during practice, there is real competition. Its one of the biggest ways to get these guys to improve and us to see a couple guys take that next step and be solid rotational players.

I don't think Dawkins or Orton will ever make it in the NBA. To one dimensional, even though I thought they played well and within tier games this summer. Thomas? might get an invite, but I doubt will make the team.

    42+ BABY!
