Ill be honest, Kobe Bryant doesnt deserve the MVP award. My arguement is this: Without Kobe the lakers cant make the playoffs, with Kobe the Lakers MIGHT make the playoffs. With Nash the Suns are one of the top teams in the league, without Nash the Suns wouldnt make the playoffs. Steve Nash makes a HUGE difference for his team and its blatantly obvious that he should and will win MVP.
omg i hate kamla even more than i hate kobe (lol j/k bout the kobe part) anyways this guy swears he knows everything he goes by stats i cant stand watching him
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MoThanU:</div><div class="quote_post">kobe is betta than lebron as in rite now..maybe in tha future it will change... but rite now we kno kobe is better....</div> What does that have to do with this thread? Comments like this gives Kobe/Laker fans a bad reputation.

Maybe not the top seeds, but they will make it. Without Amare and Nash, its a throw up.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting shapecity:</div><div class="quote_post">Why does it have to be "you all?" You're making a blanket statement towards Laker fans. Not all Laker fans see Kobe as perfect. I certainly don't, I call it as I see it. I agree 43 points on 39 shots isn't impressive at all. With the characters on this team, Kobe has to score a lot just to give this team a chance to win. The supporting cast just isn't consistent right now. It's getting better, but the 1st half effort takes a nose dive in the 2nd half in the majority of the games. The Lakers highest win % is when Kobe scores 40+</div> My mistake..by "you all" i certainly dont mean all laker fans, or only laker fans. My statement is towards those guilty of labeling others "kobe haters" if we dont agree with them that he's the best (2gaurd, player, whatever). Those type of fans do no favours for the average Laker fan that enjoy's Kobe the way 99% of basketball fans do, but dont go on and on and on about how much better he is than <insert name here>. Fact: Kobe's great Fact: Shaq is great Fact: Shaq is more responsible for the championships than Kobe Fact: Kobe certainly helped Shaq to win those titles Fiction: that Shaq is better than Kobe or vice versa...their different, who cares Fact: Kobe is more skilled than Lebron right now Fact: Kobe is no more in Jordan's league than Steve Nash is in Magic Johnson's league.....maybe in time...but no point talking about something so ridiculous. just had to get that out

The Suns still could of done very well relying on Joe Johnson, Marion, Amare and Qrich..........without Steve Nash they'd still be very successful last year. How would the Heat of done if Shaq got injured on opening night and missed the season? They MIGHT make the 8th seed...but would they of taken Detroit to a grueling game 7? No.

Kobe Bryant - Love him or hate him--or vacillate like me--but dig the fact that he's No. 1 in clutch, scoring average, and 8-cat rank, tied for fourth with only two DNPs, and fifth in wins. He's the only guy on this list in the top five of every category. And he has an 81-point game, second most to Wilt's 100. And he has the best fadeaway since God. And he can still dunk with the best of 'em. And he's averaging 38 points per game at Staples... ...But his team is only one game over .500. Slam on the breaks, freaks. King Kobe may be the sexiest swingman in my unofficial world, but he is not the MVP for 05-06. Steve Nash is first (quantity and quality without Amare; 2-6 without him last two seasons) and Dirk Nowitzki is second (best one-man band; 30&10 over the last month). Matter of fact, Kobe isn't even in my top 5. The way I see, a player has to lead his team to at least 50 wins to be eligible for MVP consideration and the Lakers are on pace for 42. Kobe can score 50 a game, but if his Lakers don't top 50 wins, he's out. None of this Andre Dawson or Alex Rodriguez for MVP nonsense applies in the NBA. You have to have the stats and win-loss percentage. That's why Nash beat Shaq last season. That's why Nash will beat Kobe this season. (Bet you never thought a tree-hugger like Nash would steal the show from the NBA's most Hollywood players? Long live the hippies...) </div> Source Check out the article, Rick rates his top 10 swingmen, Mr. Eight came in 1st place.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting durvasa:</div><div class="quote_post">Dude, your ignoring the reason he said the 43 points wasn't impressive. Kobe took 39 shots to get it. That's probably a little less than a point per shot attempt, taking trips to the foul line into account. That's not efficient at all. He didn't hit a three pointer, and he didn't get to line very much considering all those shot attempts. Like he said, if you're going to be taking that many shots for your team, you need to be scoring over 50 for it to be considered a really good game. There are a lot of players that can score 43 points in a game if given 39 shot attempts. He's not hating on Kobe. He said Kobe isn't a legitimate MVP candidate (very good reason for that when you're team is one game over .500) and he said the 43 points isn't that big a deal considering the shot attempts (which is very true as well).</div> Kobe IMO is an MVP contender, but NOT a serious MVP contender. Theres a difference. The only sserious contenders are Steve Nash, Dwyane Wade, and Dirk Nowitzki IMO. MAYBE Chauncy Billups. Kobe will get some votes, but I don't think he has any shot of winning it at all.

Wade is one of my favorite players, but that 9-11 record without shaq really hurts him.
