Boy do your reading comprehension skills suck. Either that or you are being intentionally obtuse. I suspect it's both. So when times and situations change (as they have over the centuries) lets amend the constitution for logical reasons (as we have numerous times over the centuries) and move on. That is all @riverman was suggesting. But it's good to know we have a constitutional scholar like you in our midst. It fuels your condescension. Your mama must be proud.......

bullshit....I'm saying history evolves and so does the rule of law....I love the Constitution and my country but to pretend that 1776 mindsets covers 2017 society in America is just shallow thinking....I live in a state that wasn't part of America when the constitution was adapted...you can deny that the founding fathers wanted a segregated paternal society where power was centralized around expat Europeans with means and excluded indigenous people, Africans, women and poorer European immigrants like the irish and Italians of the day...but that's history. Doesn't make me disrespectful of my country.....I dunno Marz...maybe you hate suffragettes as much as you do my questioning how the laws are being applied

Why doesn't your logic apply to the 1st amendment?

And the government didn't try to defeat the 2nd and outlaw them. Progress didn't change a thing.

So the constitution matters only how your sphincter twitches per issue?

An often used phrase, When the Constitution was written!

The last amendment to the Constitution was written and ratified in 1971. The last amendment ratified was completed in 1992. So this is when the Constitution as it stands was completed.
The statement about the kids is wrong and show a lack of comprehension.

Not sure why the amendment process has not been use in years now, since the left seems to have so many gripes. Well actually I fear I might know, and the result isn't going to be good.

I don't want to live in a country where this becomes a reality. Sooner or later, anti-gun folks are going to have to draw the line somewhere.

So much misinformation and utter nonsense screams for a primer on the actual lengthy history of repeating weaponry which has been traced back to the 4th Century BC:

Well said. Like I said earlier: the Zeppelins were once considered "Weapons of Mass Destruction" by the British. And crossbows made of wood were once considered instruments of terror that were used by the Chinese and British armies. King Richard restricted their use to his select guardsmen and soldiers.

Funny how such similarities exist today, huh?

Today's AR-15s will be tomorrow's relics soon enough.

you are correct...I mistook another weapon in Spain but a British inventor is actually credited with the machine gun....I believe I misspoke about the Spanish incident and mixed it up with a historical novel I read about Spain....memory failed me....repeating weaponry has existed long before the assault rifle we commonly deal with now....I referenced sporting rifles and compared them to assault weapons...

We don't deal with "Assault Weapons" here. The closest thing to that would be the M-16. I would have thought that someone who was in the Military such as yourself would know this.
